I'he certificate of the clectioD of David Abbot, senator for the counties of Geauga, Cuyahoga and Porfage, was laid before the senate ; the oatli to support the constitution of the United States, of this stiite, and the oaili of office, l)cing first administered to him according to law, he took his seat in the senate.

Mr, Purviance laid before the senate, the memorial of Alexan¬ der MTleth, claiming, for reasons therein stated, a seat in the se¬ nate, as senator elect, for Champaign county.
