BiographicalfHistorical Sketch: Rev. Swormstedt was an Ohio Methodist
Episcopal Minister, a c i r c u i t r i d e r of the Methodist Episcopal Church, Ohio
Conference ( 1818-- 1836), and an agent of the Western Methodist Book Concern
( 1836-- 1863). He was born i n 1798 and died in 1863. Researchers may find
additional information about Swormstedt in Box l/ Folder 5 of his papers.

Scope and Content: The Rev. Leroy Swormstedt Papers are contained in one
legal clamshell Hollinger box and span the period approximately from 1820
to 1852. The bulk of the papers consists of sermons, sermon fragments, and
religious notes. The collection contains no correspondence.
