HISTORICAL SKETCH OF THE COLLECTION
Rocky Point School was the second school built in the Enon, Ohio area. The original school building was a log structure erected in approximately 1810. Rocky Point School, like other early schools in Ohio, was financed by donations and subscriptions. The brick school building, which replaced the original log structure, was constructed at the time of the Civil War and operated as a school until 1920. The brick school building had served as a school and a church. When the school closed the building was purchased by the Rocky Point Sunday School and became the Rocky Point Chapel.
