Drawings of a projected mass- transportation system were t r a n s f e r r e d t o the Audio- visual Department i n February 1981. Biographical sketch: Robert J. Holland was born i n Dayton, Ohio, January 8, 1936. After graduating from Fairview High School i n Dayton, Holland attended Yale University. He received a B. A. from Yale i n 1954 and a law degree from The Ohio S t a t e University i n 1963. Holland then began h i s p r a c t i c e of corporate law i n Columbus, Ohio, and from 1971 t o 1974 Holland was involved with the forma-t i o n and operations of the Central Ohio T r a n s i t Authority ( COTA). Holland was i n a unique position since he served as a r e p r e s e n t a t i v e or board member of t h e t h r e e agencies primarily responsible for the creation of COTA: the Advisory Committee on T r a n s i t , t h e Central Ohio Mayors Council, and the Mid- Ohio Regional Planning Commission. The minutes include agendae, various committee r e p o r t s , budgets, and r e s o l u t i o n s . The correspondence, 1971 t o 1975, r e f l e c t s Holland's r o l e i n the development of the COTA system. Correspondents include various a t t o r n e y s , urban planners, engineers, c o n t r a c t o r s , p u b l i c o f f i c i a l s , and COTA personnel. The planning f i l e s , 1971 to 1975, c o n s i s t of l a b o r , management, and purchase agreements; budgets; f i n a n c i a l p r o j e c t i o n s ; route l i n e s ; c o n s t r u c t i o n s p e c i f i c a t i o n s ; management s t u d i e s ; and materials related t o funding by f e d e r a l g r a n t s .
