Transfer: In July 1983, fourteen photographs and one postcard
were t r a n s f e r r e d to the audiovisual c o l l e c t i o n s , and four
pamphlets w e r e t r a n s f e r r e d t o the l i b r a r y .
H i s t o r i c a l sketch: In 1930 the P u b l i c i t y Committee of the Ohio
Library Association requested l i b r a r i a n s throughout the s t a t e t o
compile h i s t o r i e s of t h e i r organizations and publish these
sketches in t h e l o c a l newspapers. Miss Winifred Ticer, a member
of the committee from Warren, Ohio, was to receive the o r i g i n a l
manuscript and a copy of the newspaper a r t i c l e t o help her prepare
a h i s t o r y of t h e Ohio l i b r a r i e s ( publication u n c e r t a i n ) . These
h i s t o r i c a l sketches also were t o be exhibited a t the t r i - s t a t e
meeting of li5r~- ians in October 1930 and apparently mounted in a
scrapbook f o r t h i s purpose.

Scope and content: The records of the Ohlo Library A s s o c i a t ~ o n
P u b l i c i t y Committee date from 1928 to 1930 and occupy one- quarter
cubrc foot. The c o l l e c t i o n rncludes o r i g i n a l manuscript and
photocopied newspaper h i s t o r i e s of public and college l i b r a r i e s
i n Ohio. They were removed from the scrapbook compiled by the
committee and arranged a l p h a b e t i c a l l y by town or u n i v e r s i t y name.
If a l i b r a r y is known as o t h e r than t h a t c i t y ' s public l r b r a r y or
t h a t c i t y ' s Carnegie Library, it is noted. Of s p e c i a l int. erest
is m a t e r i a l on the l i b r a r y a t B a t t e l l e Memorial I n s t i t u t e i n
Columbus, Ohio, and a speech about t h a t l i b r a r y given before a
group of Columbus l i b r a r i a n s by D r . H. W. G i l l e t t e on June 6 ,
1930.
