t h e R e p u b l i c a n P a r t y s i n c e 1958 when he o r g a n i z e d t h e N o r t h Canton
( O h i o ) R e p u b l i c a n Committee. I n t h e 1960s Duryee s e r v e d as s t a t e
c h a i r m a n o f t h e Ohio League o f Young R e p u b l i c a n s , v i c e chairman of
t h e Young R e p u b l i c a n s N a t i o n a l F e d e r a t i o n and campaign manager f o r
t h r e e R e p u b l i c a n congressmen: Frank Bow, O l i v e r B o l t o n , and C l a r e n c e
Brown. From 1970 t h r o u g h 1977 Duryee s e r v e d as e x e c u t i v e a s s i s t a n t
t o t h e chairman o f t h e Ohio R e p u b l i c a n S t a t e Committee r e s p o n s i b l e
f o r c o o r d i n a t i n g t h e R e p u b l i c a n e f f o r t on r e a p p o r t i o n m e n t . Duryee
p r e s e n t l y has an a p p o i n t m e n t w i t h t h e F e d e r a l I n s u r a n c e A d m i n i s t r a t i o n
i n Washington DC.
