a n o n - p r o f i t c o r p o r a t i o n , was f o r m e d i n 1974 as t h e e d u c a t i o n a l
arm o f t h e Columbus C h a p t e r o f t h e A m e r i c a n I n s t i t u t e o f A r c h i t e c t s
( AIA). CAF t o o k i t s p r e s e n t name i n 1 9 7 7 a n d has as i t s p r i m a r y
g o a l , t h e e n c o u r a g e m e n t o f " k n o w l e d g e , u n d e r s t a n d i n g , and a p p r e -
c i a t i o n o f t h e b u i l t e n v i r o n m e n t o f t h e Columbus, O h i o , m e t r o p o l i t a n
a r e a . "
