B i o g r a p h i c a l s k e t c h : M i l e s N. Woodward was born n e a r T r i a d e l p h i a ,
Morgan County, Ohio, on November 16, 1844. I n September 1 8 6 1 , he
j o i n e d Company H of t h e 1 7 t h Regiment o f t h e Ohio V e t e r a n V o l u n t e e r
I n f a n t r y o r g a n i z e d a t Camp Dennison, O h i o . He mustered o u t w i t h
t h e company on J u l y 16, 1865, as a c o r p o r a l .
Woodward m a r r i e d Hannah Parsons o f R i n g g o l d , Morgan C o u n t y , O h i o ,
i n 1868. They had s i x c h i l d r e n : Rose, F r e d , George C . , C h a r l e s M.,
Eva, and E l l a . George C . , C h a r l e s M., and Fred e s t a b l i s h e d
Woodward B r o s . Wholesale F r u i t and Produce i n Columbus i n 1887, and
c o n t i n u e d t h e b u s i n e s s i n t o t h e 1920s. M i l e s N. Woodward d i e d on
F e b r u a r y 27, 1920; Hannah Parsons Woodward d i e d i n 1946.
