SCOPE AND CONTENTS OF THE SERIES
The series consists of judicial appointment files kept by the Legal Division of the Office of Governor Bob Taft. These files contain appointment letters, biographical information, resumes, letters of recommendation, and oath of office of candidates for judicial vacancies on the Ohio Supreme Court and other courts throughout the state.
ORGANIZATION OF THE SERIES
The files are generally in the order in which they were received. The series is divided into two subseries.
Sub- series I: General Files
Sub- series II: William Klatt Files
Sub- series I includes files kept by the legal division in general. Sub- series II includes files kept exclusively by William Klatt, Chief Legal Counsel to Governor Taft from 1999 to 2002. Most of box 57,947 is arranged alphabetically by the candidate’s last name.
