HISTORICAL SKETCH OF THE COLLECTION
Born November 8, 1899, Lola Mayfield Dickerson was the daughter of George and Abbie Mayfield of Elgin, Oregon. She had two sisters, Verna and Elsie. Mrs. Dickerson moved to Columbus, Ohio where she worked at The Ohio State University. She served as acting auditor of student organizations from 1945-1946. She was married to William E. Dickerson (1897-1971) who worked as an accountant at Ohio State University from 1929-1963. They had two sons. At the age of 99, she passed away on January 13, 1999.
SCOPE AND CONTENTS OF THE COLLECTION
The collection contains several hundred Christmas cards collected from 1938-1964 by Lola Dickerson. There are also a small number of other types of greeting cards such as Birthday, Thank You, and Valentine’s cards. Also included in the collection are letters and postcards addressed to Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Dickerson.
