At the annual meeting of the Board of the United Jewish Fund on Tuesday evening, Oct. 10. the following tribute was paid to the late Edwin J. Schan¬ farber, president for more than eighteen years of the United JewLsh Fund, hy Justin L. Sill¬ man, Chairman of the Nominat¬ ing Committee in presenting the slate of officers for the Fund.—

Council Executive Committee To Meet
The Jewish Community Council- Executive Committee meeting will be held on Wednes day, Ocl. 25, at noon, at the Deshler-Walllck Hotel, it was announced this week hy Hsirry Gilbert, president.
A number of important mat¬ ters will be discussed for re commendation at the nexl quar¬ terly meeting of the Jewish Community Council which will take place in December.

Mr. Kaufmann has had .such a variety of experience In Na¬ tional Jewish afairs and for many years has been an import¬ ant factor in so many achieve¬ ments for the welfare of the Jewish people everywhere, that one hardly knows where lo be¬ gin in trying to tell Columbus people about him.
Aside from his having served very successfully as president of Ihe Zionist Organization of America, Mr. Kaufmann is known as one of the princiijal advocates of unity in Jewish I'^und Raising in America. He was chairman of the Zion¬ ist Committee to iwrtlcipule In the 5th War Bond Drive which group sold over IS(i5,000,000 in Bonds. Mr. Kaufmann is also, chairman of the American Pal¬ estine Trading Corporation, which is to serve as agent for the purchase ut $10,000,000 in agricultural etiuipmenl and ma¬ chinery for post-uar use in I'al¬ estine.
Our guest siieaker has been a close friend and collaborator of Dr. Chaim Weizmann. presi¬ dent of the World Zionist Or¬ ganizalion; has worked closely with tile late Supreme Court Justk'e. Lotus D. HraiKleis, nnd other great Zlopist leaders. Mr. Kaufmann is also an intimate friend of Vice-President Henry A. Wallace, whom he enlerlainr ed recently in his home In .New England.
