United Jewish Fund Urges Increased Giving
Discussing the progress made lo dale bv the com¬ bined efforts of the Men's. Women's and Youth Divisions in the United Jewish Fund campaign, Robert W. Schiff, general chairman, staled that he was very enthusiastic over (he accomplishments so far hy these groups. Judg¬ ing by the number of pledge cards turned in daily and in¬ creased giving on the part of hundreds in the local Jewish community, there is every indicalion (hat Columbus Jewry is tnindful of the gigantic task confronting our people in the United States in (he program of relief and rehabilitation which has been outlined as essential for 1!)44. Not only overseas/needs, but local and national needs arc greater this year! The cost of maintenance and operation has in¬ creased, and along with it a greater demand upon the facili¬ ties of the various beneficiaries supported by (he United Jewish Fund," IVIr. Schiff stated.

At the annual meeting and election of officers held by the Columbus Hebrew School on Tuesday, June 20, the following officers and members of the Boartl of Directors were chcsen: Dr, Max P. The finan¬ cial statement was also sub¬ mitted before the membership.
From the expressions by members of the newly elected Board, the Columbus Hebrew School Is looking forward to a year of successful accomplish¬ ments.
