Donors of used clothes, shoes and bedding to the United Na¬ tional Clothing Collection mqy deduct the value qf these gifts from their Income tix payments, provided that the total allowable deductions for all types of con¬ tributions during the year do not exceed 15 percent of the tax- payers adjusted gross Income. Joseph C. Hyman, Executive vIce-Chalrman of the Joint Dis¬ tribution Committee, announced the new ruling to members of the 22 national Jewish member¬ ship organizations affiliated with J. D. C, in the drive to collect 160,000,000 pounds of clothing for overseas relief.

Rohert Lurie, newly appointed Executive Director of the Jew¬ ish Coordinating Councii of St, Louis, will address the Zion Lodge, No, 62, B'nai B'rith meet¬ ing next Tuesday, April 17, at the Broad Street Temple,
Lurie has completed three years as national director of the War Service Department of B'nai B'rith and will talk about B'nai B'rith activities. He has directed the program that result¬ ed in furnishing 1200 recreation rooms tor the armed forces, and recreational facilities and other services tor more than 700 Navy and Merchant Mlarine Ships', in addition to many other national projects designed to aid in the progress of the war effort, he has initiated patterns for action widely used throughout the na¬ tion.
For several years prior to the war, Lurle was Coordinator of the B'nai B'rith and Anti-Defa¬ mation League tor the New "Vork metropolitan area,. Before that he was for many years promin¬ ently identified with radio and advertising as commentator, script writer, program director and producer. ^
