J. Goodman, president. That the Bishop will partici¬ pate in the program- as the fea¬ tured speaker lends unique di.s- tinctlon.and honor to the occas¬ ion,' Mr. Goodman said. "His presence, moreover, will be his¬ toric in that it will be the first time a Catholic Bishop will have addressed a Jewish grou\i in the history of our city and one of the rare instances recorded when stich a person h^ adfiress- ed a congregation on any occas¬ ion"; Mr. Goodman concluded. Bishop Ready is a person o{ wide experience and learning. He served on the Advisory Com¬ mittee to Mr. Myron C. Taylor, having been appointed by Presi¬ dent Franklin D. Roosevelt . to tills office. Before coming to Columbus, he vvas Secretary of the Catholic Welfare League, with headquarters in Washing ton. This League is in close touch with the Papacy and has for its purpose the formation of the policies and operations of the Catholic Church in the var .ious fields in which it is deeply Interested throughout the coun¬ try. Zion Lodge Seeks 100 New Members A most enthusiastic meeting at the Hrotid Lincoln Hotel on Thursday evening, March 22ml, markeil the launching of the Spring B'nai B'rilh Member- ship drive. Headed this year by Joseph Levison as chairman and Sam Schlonsky, as co-chairman, a goal of 100 new members has heen set. At press time over 25 new members have already been re¬ ported by the membership com¬ mittee of Zlon Lodge No. 62. It is interesting to note that Zlon Lodge has a membership today of 1275, with a goal of 1500 by the end of 1B45. The Lodge is now second In size in Ohio and fifth in District No. 2 NEW YORK (JPS)—Dr. Ab-I !>a Hillel Sliver, of Cleveland, declared at a dinner in his hon¬ or at the Hotel Commodore here that ','the most effective repre¬ sentation in a democracy is through orfnnized public opin¬ ion", and that while President Roosevelt and Prime Minister Churchill "are well Intontloned towards us". It would be "a mis¬ take, however, to leave the en¬ tire fate of our movement in the hands of these two statesmen". He recalled that Prime IVIln- ister Churchill, desjiite his de¬ finite friendliness to tho Zionist cause, was the author of the White Paper of 1022, and has permitted tho continuance of the Mci:)onald White Pa|)er, of 1(«!) Despite President Roosevelt's support for Zionism, the U.
