Me is Rab¬ hi Moshe Goldblum who came to Columbus la.st Fall to serve a.s .spiritual leader of the East Broad Street Temple, while Ralibi Nathan ' Zelizer is on leave vvith the armed forces as Chaplain. During his short stay in this Community Rabhi Goldblum had endeared himself not only to the members of his congrega¬ tion but the general community as well. His radiant personality and vigorous energy were char¬ acteristic of this young Rabbi who pursued diligently the many worthwhile services he delighted in rendering the Tifereth Israel house of worship. In appreciation for his many contributlotis to the well being of the Broad Street Temple membership, a special Sabbath service was held Friday eve¬ ning (last night) in honor of Rabbi and Mrs. Goldblum, fol¬ lowed, by an Oneg Shabbat in the social hall, Upon Rabbi Goldblum's de¬ parture for still greater service in the armed forces of our country as chaplain, the Chron¬ icle extends to him Its best wishes. But I want to say right hero antl now, that the condition of the Jewish people in Europe directly affects every¬ one of us here. Disregarding Che fact that each one of us in Columbus hold.s in his own hands the fate of one or more of his brethren ly the ruined cities of Europe, the destruction of the Jews in Eurojie and Palestine will make it Imposs¬ ible for the Jewry of America and the Western liemisphere to survive. As Jews we can only survive if our bi;ethren abroad survive. Once we forget our fiuties 5nd obligations as Jews to our brethren, and we perish a.s Jews", concluded Mr. Schiff. The drive will continue, and it is hoped that the extra effort the workers will make during the next ten days will accom¬ plish the desired goal Columbus has promised to raise for the great humanitarian causes tor which the appeal this year is intended. Columbus Je-wry must not fail to meet the challenge. The quota accepted by the local Jew¬ ish community is but the mini¬ mum goal.
