The Ohio Jewish Chronicle Women's Division Reports $25,000 At Luncheon Meeting The Women'.s Division of the United .Jewish Fund Campaign got off to a flying start at a luncheon meeting Tuesday at the Seneca Hotel following the forceful and inspiring message by Samuel Rothberg who also spolte at the men's dinner the same evening al the Southern Hotel. Mr. Rothberg recently return¬ ed from a personal survey of conditions In Central Europe arid Palestine. Early thi.s year he took time off from his busi¬ ness Interests to visit the .scenes, of Jewish suffering In Europe where he convinced himself of the 'Urgent needs which this year must be met through the Uniteti Jewish Appeal. "The sanle spirit of tireless giving and working will enable us to accomplish the/even great er fund-raising task we have set ourselves in the campaign for 1947 Mrs. J. S. Reslei^ Wom¬ en's Division Chairman stated before the large group in at¬ tendance. Rabbi Nathan Zelizer, former Chaplain In the U.S. Army, will deliver the Me¬ morial address, with Louis Le¬ vin, Commander of the Post, pre¬ siding. The services will be held at the Jewish Cemetery on Altiio Creek Drive, same as in prev¬ ious yeara. Nathan Coopersmlth has ar¬ ranged for a firing scjuad'and bilgler from the Post members, which will be their first appear¬ ance. The graves will be decor¬ ated on Thursday evenings May 29. Roth called the meeling to order until the last wordp of the clos¬ ing plea were spoken, there was a tenseness that bespoke the community's understanding of the grave seriousness of the oc¬ casion. Abe A. Wolnian Heads Campaign Orgnnlzutlon Committee Chairman Rolh announced this week that Abe A. Wolman, vet-' eran of many United Jewish Fund campaigns, has this year accepted the chairmanship of the Organization Committee. Mr. Wolman's sincere and de¬ voted efforts not only to the United Jewish Fund year after year, I'lut to every constructive cause in Jewish life, are well known to hundreds in this com¬ munity.
