Belghtler, Commander of the F*iflh Service Command, will present a special citation lo rs'nai B'rilh for services to the armed forces during World War II. An additional citation from the United States Navy will be presented by Captain John G. Foster, Jr., U.SN, according to- Sidney U Katz, president of Zion Lodge, No. G2. The program for the picnic at Oak Park as outlined by Harry S'^ Goldstein, general chairman, is as follows: l;ao—contests, games, etc. for men, women and children. At¬ tractive prizes have been ar¬ ranged for these events. 3:00—Extiibitfon softbaii game between the B'nai B'rith team and A. Z. A. 4:30—Patriotic ceremonies and presentation of certificates of recognition to B'nai B'rith from the War Department and the United States Navy. 5:30—Dinner hour,. All fam¬ ilies will bring their own bas¬ kets. Soft drinks and ice cream will be available at the park, 7-.0tt—Dancing during the ev¬ ening for all. To drive to Oak Park at 5442 Sunbury Road go north on Sun bury iEload from St. Marys of Springs past Valley Dale, it Is about M ¦ mile north of Morse Bd., on the east side. Rural mail boxes along the road are num¬ bered. The park itself is on the road and easily available. The officers of B'nai B'rith urge all B'nal B'rith families to participate in this outing and to be present for the presenta¬ tion of tha war service awards. B'nai H'rith is the only service organization in the nation to receive such recognition by the armed forces for outstanding war service to date. We are outraged even further by the manifestly deliberate desecration ot the Jewish Sabbath, by this wanton violation of one of the basic ele¬ ments of religious freedom and which Yepresents a reversion to the barbaric practices ot ancient Syria and Home. D. C, "So They May Live Again," pub¬ lished today. "Your work to succor the stricken and relieve the victims ot the war and persecution throughout the world deserves the commendation of all Amer leans". President Thuman's let¬ ter reads. "The needs of 1,500,- 000 surviving Jews in Europe, men, women and children, are truly staKgering and a challenge to the generosity of all men of good will. Garek, Gen¬ eral Campaign Chairman, took the opportunity to congratulate and thank the leaders, workers and contributors of the magnifi¬ cent achievement of this year. The loyalty and conscientious efforts ot the Men's, Women's and Junior Division organiza¬ tions had in a large measure contributed to the success ot the 1946 drive, he said. Mr, Garek paid special tribute to Harry R. Roth, chairman ol the Campaign Organizatloji Committee, for his efficiency, determination and tenacity, of purpose. Prom the very begin¬ ning until the present time Mr. Rodi was a real driving force. He mastered every detail and had at ail times been able to furnish each group with such factual intormation as has brought about success. "We- had the greatest task In Columbus United Jewish Fund history, and many hundreds of men and women in the com¬ munity played an Important and praiseworthy part.
