.[. G. Holland has told us:— "God give us men. A time like
this demands ' Strong minds, great hearts,
true faith and ready hands! Men whom the lust of office
does not kill. Men whom the spoils of office
cannot buy Men who possess opinions .and
a will. Men who love honor, /nen who
cannot lie". In the opinion of the Judges of the local B'nai B'rith Sanford I. Lakln Memorial Award, there are but .very few indeed in the Columbus Jewish community who cah measure up to the high standard set by this poet, but one of those who does is that man, Allen Gundersheimer. To know him is to admire, to re¬ spect and to love, because far above all, of his other splendid qualities there stands out that characteristic which marks him as one who loves his fellowmen and who will make every effort to serve and to help tliem—a great citizen and outstanding Jew-. ^
It is on this basis of evaluat¬ ing the man foi^ his meritorious service to the coiftmimity that
last Sunday evening, at the an¬ nual Installation dinner of Zion Lodge at the East Broad Street Tempie, that the first piresenta- tion of the Sanford I. Lalun Me-, morial Award was made to Mr. Gundershelmer. president of the Pashiori Co.
