Yenkin, chairman of the Site Committee. "We recognize an obligation to proceed as fast as possible," says Yenkin, "at the same time exercising due caution. We realize that the location of the new Center is a matter of prime importance fo our Jewish community, and all elements entering into a final decision must be carefully considered." Yenkin said that his commit¬ tee has heen studying informa¬ tion received from the New York Welfare Board relative lo the location of Jewish Centers in other comBiunitle.s, and is also examining very closely the Slesnick report, made in 1945, based on a survey of the local situation as It related to a new Jewish Center, Yfnkin also pointed out that the final decision on a location for the Center depended to a great extent on financial con¬ siderations.
