Through the efforts ot the following, many thousands ot pounds ot clothing were packed by the S.O.S. (Supplies for Over¬ seas Survivors) Committee Tues¬ day, Aug. 3:

Qne year was .spent at Elvans- ton Community Center, where she supervised the nursery maintained for working mothei-s. F'oliowlng this, she spent a year at the Veterans' Rehabilitation Center, where she organized case studies and worked with war neurosis cases. While there she was associated with the Man- teno State Hospital for the men¬ tally ill, where she conducted simple games, songs and dances. Broad St. Temple's new activ¬ ities director was also councilor at the Chicago Girl Scouts camp during the summers of 1941 and 19'I2. In 1945, she was arts and crafts councilor at a camp, and then attended the Brandeis Camp Institute.
During 1945. Mrs. Gordon worked at the University ot Chi¬ cago Hlllel Foundation as assist¬ ant director. Her duties there consisted of leading all the ac¬ tivities, except those directly concerned with religious services such as publicity, social, athletic, library and art, holiday celebra¬ tion, and various other enter¬ prises. At the same time she attended the University of Chi¬ cago and received her master's degree in 1946 In educational psychology. The topic of her thesis was "Sociological and psychological concepts of group therapy."
Mrs. Gordon is a member of the Alpha Kappa Delta, sociology honorary sorority, and graduat¬ ed with honors from Northwest¬ ern. At the University of Chi¬ cago she was elected to PI Lam- da Theta, education honorary for women. ^
Last year was spent at Roose¬ velt College In Chicago, as ad¬ visor on student activities and as playground leader on a city playground In Champaign, HI. Mrs. Gordon's Jewish education was attained at the Conservative. South Side Hebrew Congregation In Chicago, and a yeai' at the College of Jewish Studies. While at South Side she taught Sun¬ day School and led a Young Judea Group. Mrs. Gordon will assist Rabbi Zelizer In the super¬ vision of the three educational Institutions at Broad St. Temple —Sunday School, Hebrew School and the Nursery School, and will be In complete charge of all youth activities of this Congre¬ gation. ;

Robert Lazarus Is president of the F. & R. Lazarus & Co. He Is a past president ot Zlon Lodge 62, and 16 a board mem¬ ber of the Columbus Community Chest, Children's Hospital, and numerous other civic organiza¬ tions.
