Senior Hadassah Sets Dec. 12 as Date For Its 20th Annual Donor Dinner; Committees Named
The 20th Annual Donor Umner of the Columbus Chapter of Senior Hadassah will be held Sunday, Dec. 12. at the Noll House.

rhe Bureau of Jewish Kduca- tion. with the cooperation of the Columbus Hebrew School slaff, will offer a series of courses to men, women and young adults beginning the first week in Nov¬ ember. The f^jiiowing courses will be offered: Elementary He¬ brew, Conversational Hebrew, Advanced Hebrew, Jewish His¬ tory, History of Zionism, Cus¬ toms and Ceremonies, i3ibie and. Prophets. PARIS. (JTA) — The belief that general debate of the Pales¬ tine (jucstlon would begin this week in the United Nations was voiced here in informed circles. The.se quarters said that the ar¬ rival here recently of acting Palestine mediator Dr. Ralph Ounche was linked to this possibility.

TEL AVIV. (.ITA I — An agreement with Sheli-Socony-Vacuum to supply refined (lil products sufficient to meet the nation's re(|uirementK was announced this week hy the Israeli Government. Shipments are expected to begin immediately, but the govern¬ ment as a "precautionary measure." will not relax the current restrictiims' on fuel consumption. The continuance of the rationing is also based on the need of Israeli to conserve foreign exchange.
The three companies consented to continue to supply refined products as long as there are no hostilities. The agreement re- .serves the right of the Israeli Government to obtain additional supplies from other sources.
BOARD OF DRPI'TIEH SETS UP "DEFENSE MONTH"
' LONDON, (JTA) — November has been .set aside by the Board of Deputies of British .lews as "Defense Month" in view of in¬ creasing anti-Semitism in the British Isles. A meeting of the Board heard Dr. Selig Brodetsky, president of the organization, assert that there are "indications of large-scale preparations for all-out attacks against the Jews in Britain." A resolution hy the Board provides that during "Defense Month," the Jewish community In Hritaln will concentrate on raising $800,000 for the purpose of combattl*ng anti-Jewish propaganda.
