"Israel in Song" Albums Being Distributed by Local Junior Hadassah The local distribution of Israel In Song, a new album of Israeli songs Just completed by the new¬ ly estabilshetl Palestine .^n Corp. of New York City, has been undertaken by Columbus Junior Hadassah, the "Young Wo¬ men's Zionist Organi2atlon of America, it was announced by Miss Zelda Kersteln, president of the local unit. The music In this album is one of the finest examples of the new Jewish culture Inspired by the Jewish State. As a Zionist organization dedicated to foster¬ ing the growth and development of the Jewish State. Junior Ha-, daseah welcomes this opportunl ty to introduce to this communi¬ ty, music which expres.ses the spirit of a people fighting so courageously for their indepen¬ dence. The debut of this album thus introduces indigenous Israeli music to the American public. Much ot this music has never before been heard in the United States. All of the songs In the album were composed by Nac- hum Nardi one of the outstand¬ ing composers of Israel. The musical compositions are either original, Inspired by the Zionist rebuilding of Israel, or adaptions of ancient Hebrew music. Junior Hadassah Is the sole dlsM'ibutor of,the albums here. This unusual business venture for a young women's organisa¬ tion was undertaken not only for Its cultural value, but also because part of the proceeils of the sale will go toward the sup¬ port of Junior Hadassah's pro¬ jects in Israel. One of the prime beneficlaires, she explained, will be the Meier Shfeyah Building Flind for en¬ larging the children's village of Meier Shfeyah maintained by Jr. Hadassah for underprivileg¬ ed and refugee children. The album Is now on sale at Heaton's music store, or can be obtained by calling Fa. 0720. In view of Triuii.tu'.s altiiude lov^.inN llle (|uestion of the Ne¬ gev, 111-, Weix.m.imi said.
