Sanford Lakin Awaid Will Be Presented at
Annual B'nai B'rith Installation Banquet
Presentation of the Sanford I. Lakln Memorial Award will be one of the features of the B'nal B'rith annual installation ban¬ quet Sunday, Sept. 18, at Broad SL Temple.
Only 400 can be accommodated at the banquet, and no more re- .servatlons will be accepted after that number is reached.
The Lakln Award'is presented annually to, the .lewish citizen who has done the most for the Jewish community, for Colum¬ bus clvlcly, or for B'n B'rith nationally or locally.
Although the awaid Is'made annually, more than a single year's activity Is .considered In (boosing the recipient. The

A, A. Sisterhood to Horvor New Members
In a record-making campaign for membership, more than 100 new members have been pdded to the roster of the Agudatfi Achlm Sisterhood this year. This record was primarily achieved through the. efforts of Mrs. Mor¬ ris N. Taxon, m'embershlp chair¬ man, her-co-chairman, Mrs.'A. R. Schwartz,' and their commit¬ tee of-^the following workers: ?
Mesdames J. L. Schwartz, A. A. Wolman, M. Kanter, S. Brief, N. Mathless, S. 'Valcov, M. Stein, N. Zeff, A. Shkolnlck, I. Segel, H. Kay, A. Yenkin and the Sisterhood's president, Mrs. H. Maybruck.
The largest group ever brought into the Sisterhood at one time represents a wide section of the Jewish community, cognizant of the importance of afflllatirig themselves with the synagogue which was founded In 1875 and is the oldest orthodox congrega¬ tion in the bfty. Prospective members of "Zion Lodge 02, B'nai B'rltl\, have been invited to a "Get Acquainted" stag party Tuesday night to learn of-the varied activities of li'nal B'rith nationally and local¬ ly.
To be held at the Excelsior Club at 8 p. m., the affair is un¬ der the direction of Seymour Luckoff, membership committee chairman, and co-chairmen for the stag, Mltchel Cohen, Herb Cummins, Ray Wells, and Abe Silverman.
"The National Program" will be presented by I. W. Garek, member of the National Execu¬ tive Committee; the local activi¬ ties will be pictured by Ben Z. Neustadt, publisher of the Ohio Jewish Chronicle, and the work of the B'nal B'rith Antl-Defama¬ tlon League will be told by Sey¬ mour Gorchoff, director of the Ohio-Kentucky office of the ADL.

Co. of Columbus—'but on a lesser scale:

Without my knowledge, Mr. Eaton made arrangements with Mr. Sugarman, who formerly was with the Jewish Agerjoy^lp Israel,' to pick us up- at ifie nptel and deliver us to Yavnah. He sept .his youthful driver,'a vet¬ eran of the recent war, who In- trodiiced us to a Mr.! ^Itsghuler, who \yas sitting beside him.
Mr, AUschuler had been living
among the Arabs of the Negev for the last'25 years. He spoke., their tongue, lived with them, and wass. known, in all their vil¬ lages. Altschuler purchased land
for the Jewish Agency at very attractive flgm-es during, his ac¬ tivity among'Hhe Arabs.
