Israel's Independence Celebrated Tomorrow
with the solemn sounding of the Shofar will the second cele¬ bration of Israel's declaration of independence begin In Israel thLs Sunday.<The vibrations of this holy blast will re-echo In every town and hamlet the world-over wherever .lews may congregate.

The new Agudath Achlm syna¬ gogue on E. Broad St. at Roose¬ velt Ave. In Bexley, will become a reality when ground-breaking ceremonies take place this Sun¬ day at 11 a. m., on the site. It will mark a new era for this oldest orthodox house of wor- .shlp In Columbus since the new structure will be mrieS^Jp^im the Jewish center ot population, which In recent years has been gradually shifting to the Bex¬ ley and Driving Park areas. It will climax several years of in¬ tense cahipaigning for funds, not
only from Agudath' Achlm mem¬ bership, hut from the general community as well. Although moneys on hand are not 'suffi¬ cient to cover the entire cost of the new synagogue building, it is hoped that these funds will be forthcoming from loyal friends of Agudath Achlm.

With the opening of the 1950 campaign of the Women's Divi¬ sion of the Uniled Jewish F^und of Columbus a scant three weeks away, the general chairmen and members of the Steering Com¬ mittee have been working feverishly, organizing all the many de¬ tails which will go Into the running of a .successful campaign.
