Miss Schaffer Speal<er For JJCC's Sabbath
Mi.ss Ruth Schaffer, nationally- known youth leader, will be the chief speaker at the annual sab¬ bath of the Junior Jewish Com¬ munity (Council of Columbus next Friday evening at Broad St. Temple.
Miss Schaffer formerly served as president of J.J.CO! for two years, 1946-48; later she was elected secretary to the National Jewish Youth Conference. The Conference Is a nation-wide youth body sponsored by the National Jewish Welfare Board and represents Jewish youlh and youlh adult council council and National Jewish youth organiza lions.
A graduate of the School of Social Administration, OSU (June, 1949), was recently elect¬ ed to the steering committee of the National Jewish Welfare Board. President of the Wld-west Jewish Youth Counqll, Miss Schaffer is one of 52 persons named by President Truman to prepare' plans for the Mid-Cent¬ ury White House Conference on Children.'to be held thla year.
Miss Schaffer received her early training In youth activities by serving aa counselor at Canj|i Schonthal in 1940-47; and as a group leader at Schonthal Cen¬ ter from 1946-48. She served un¬ der "Doc" Cheroff, director of activUlpg, 'Who guided, and sup¬ ervised her work.

Hadassah Presents "48 Hours A Day"
Columhus Chapter of Senior Hadassah proudly presents the new movie, "48 Hours a Day," as- it's feature attraction next Tues¬ day afternoon at Bryden Rd. Temple. The meeling will be pre¬ ceded by a dessert luncheon at 1 p. m. Mrs. Harry Kollus will pre¬ side and Mrs. Sam Subow will gi\e the opening prayer. Mrs. David Roth will summarize re¬ cent news events In Israel.
"48 Hours A Day" was produc¬ ed in Israel and It was written, directed, and acted by Israelis. It portrays a day in the life of a nurse during the siege of Jeru¬ salem and shows the conflict be¬ tween her duty and her emo¬ tions. The movie shows clearly the extreme hardships suffered by thQse who participated In the liberation of Israel.
The Columbus community Is Indeed fortunate lo have an op¬ portunity to' see this stirring film which was recently shown Dy the Columbia Broadcasting System on lis national television network. Don't forget: Tuesday, 1 p. m., for a truly educational afternoon.
Coronation Ball
Junior Hadassah's second an-' nual Coronation Ball will be an event of Saturday, March 4, In the Gold Room of Ft Hayes Ho¬ tel, featuring, as last year, a con¬ test with members ot campus and Columbus fraternities and sororities participating. The win¬ ners will be crowned King and Queen of the Ball.
Representatives of the Arthur Murray, Jimmy Rawlins, Fred Astaire and Dorothy Bloom dance studios will act as judges.
Another highlight will be a married couples dance-elimina¬ tion contest, with the winning twosome receiving a bottle of champagne.
Special door prize will be "An Evening on the Town"—dinner for two In the Ft. Hayes Crystal Room and two theatre tickets.
Dancing, to the music of Ted Turner's orchestra, will start at 9:30.
All proceeds will be forwarded to the many charitable organiza¬ tions supported by Jr. Hadassah —such as the Meyer Shfeya Children's Village In Israel and the Henrietta Szold School of Nursing.
