Center Membership Meeting Tuesday
The organization meeting of the membership committee of the new Jewish Community Center, 1126 College Ave., is scheduled next Tuesday, 8 p. m., at the Southern Hotel, Chairman Melville Frank announces.
Plans for procuring charter members among families and In¬ dividuals' of the Jewish Com¬ munity of Columbus will be out¬ lined by Chairman Frank and his vice chairmen, David Gold- Smith and LouLs Levin. A large group of contributor.^ to the iniildlng fund for the magnifi¬ cent .structure has volunteered
a.s workers In the campaign. Others who have watched the project develop have become so enthusiastic about its program and facilities that they have agreed to assist In distributing membership cards.

SELF - DEVELOPMENT .SCHOOL WILL LAUNCH EIGHTH SEASON SEPT. 5
The Columbus Self-Deveiopment School, formerly the Agu¬ dath Achim Self-Development School, located In the A. A. Edu¬ cational Institute, 1021 Bryden Rd., will inaugurate its Sth con¬ secutive year, the first under the new banner, Tuesday morning. Sept 5, it was announced this week. Information on the new ad¬ ministrative organization will be forthcoming soon. However, news of the re-openlhg date for the new year, along with some of the plans of the.program was made known now by Mrs. A. R. Schwartz, founder and director since Its Inception.
In keeping with the past his¬ tory of the School, each year's re-opening is always accompan¬ ied by new Ideas, new tech¬ niques, new materials. This Is a characteristic that Is so pro¬ nounced with the type of pri¬ vately-supported and endowed program represented in the Co¬ lumbus Self-D evelopment School. This feature must pre vail In order to maintain the pro¬ gressive and self-development program—small groups, Individ uailzed attention, children -mov¬ ing in their work as they deve¬ lop themselves with directed mo¬ tivation, learning social living- all correlated in a program built around the Jewish child.

Dr. Breslau Elected President of J. T, A.
NEW YORK, f.lTA) — Elec¬ tion of Dr. Isadore Breslau of Washington as president of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency was announced this week.

Dr. Breslau, who Is president of the Washington Jewish Com¬ munity ("ouncil, has been active In. Jewish affairs for many years and was an intimate associate of the Justice l.oui.s D. Brandeis in the Zionist movement
Dr. Breslau .served as a chap¬ lain in the U.S. Army in both world wars and was the first Jewish chaplain to enter Berlin In 1945.
Dr, Breslau's election follows the reorganization ot the JTA a public trust earlier this year. With the new Board of Directors now In formation, he will direct the expansion of the JTA's worldwide news coverage and the development of a com¬ plete news coverage of the Am¬ erican Jewish scene.

and beauty, Mrs. Gundersheimer said. Each item must be approv¬ ed by the equipment committee. Appeal Is made to business¬ men who are Interested In the Center to donate necessary of¬ fice equipment. Amon^ the items needed that can be donated are an adding machine, mimeo¬ graph, table tennis tables, cash register, office desks, work benches for woodworking shop, mailing machine, check writer and typewriters.
