Adeline Niece has appeared in Colum¬ bus before, and has made many friends and ardent admirers with her unique style of song delivery. This diminutive star has headlined many famous clubs, in the U. S., and has also appeared on many radio and television programs. . For those who have seen and heard her, and for those who know of her only by reputation, her appearance in Columbus Dec. 2 will be a delightful treat. _ With Miss Niece will appear the new and rising young oomedy atar, Emil Cohen, who, with that rare combination of musical ability and raconteur talent, is In htmsetf a one-man show, capable of sustain¬ ing a complete entertainment pro¬ gram. We have received word Trom the Melville D. Frank, well known local insursLncc man, haa been ap¬ pointed chairman of the annual Membership Round-Up of the Jew¬ ish Center, It was announced by t*res. Edward F. Schlezinger. Mr. Frank, in reviewing tho progress that haa been made in the past year, stated that almost 2,700 In- dlvlduaia have become members of the Center. More than 1000 of these enrolled in the charter membership drive a year ago. Since that time an additional 1,600 Individuals have become affiliated in order to par¬ ticipate in the Center's broad pro¬ gram of activities. It will be the aim of the Mem¬ bership Round-Up committee, Mr. Frank stated, to give every Jewish family In Columbua an opportunity to become members of the Center. Mr. Frank pointed out that the Columbus Jewish Center is achiev¬ ing national recognition for the development of a program of ac¬ tivities for every member of the family from the pre-school child to Golden Agers. Barkley, the Columbus campaign for the sale of Bonds of Israel la now in high gear. Bond Chairman Joaeph Zox announces that volun¬ teer workers are now In the process of visiting every home in Columbua in the interest of the Bond campaign. Under the leadership of Charlie Ross, Herman Katz and Mrs. Bernard Feltlinger. teams of workers from every Jewish organization in Columbus will visit each Jewish home to sell bonds. Two major m(H;tlngs will high¬ light the month. Next Tuesday, at 1:30 p m., Hadaasah will present Gershon Agron, former Director- General of Information for the Is¬ raeli Government and editor and publisher of the Jerusalem Post. He Is one of the most Informed men in the world on middle-eastern problema. In 1948, his plant was destroyed by the Arabs, but the paper appeared next day, despite all handicaps. Pierre Van Paassen wil! be the guest of ZOA on Nov. 29. Mr. Van Paassen ia an old friend of the people of Columbus. Hla books and lectures on Palestine and Israel have had a profound effect on the American people and did much to make the State of larael posaible.
