Formal Dedication of Center is March 18
The formal dedlcallon of the new .levvisff Center ¦will be held at 2:15. p. m. on Sunday, Mar. 18, It was announced this week by I'] d w a r d F. Schlezinger, Center president.
The dedication address, "What the Jewish Center Means to the Community," vvill be given by Mr. Fruti Lazarus, .Ir. of Cincinnati.
The Dedication committee has been working for the past several months developing an outstanding program for the occasion. A beautifully-executed .souvenir brochure is being prepared which will be
mailed to everyone In the community early in March. The brochure Is profusely Illustrated with pictures of the activities and^Taclllties of the new building, of hls- lorlcal events during the qampalgn and construction period, and of the many people who worked to make the ("enter po.ssible.

Weizmann Expected to Entrust* Ben Gurion with New Cabinet
TEL AVIV (JTA) — President Chaim Weizmann has com: pleted preliminary talks with leaders of the various political parties in Israel In an attempt to bring about the formation ot a new coalition cabinet without resorting to general elections. He Is expected to entrust David Ben Gurion with the task of forming a new cabinet.
"The world at large," he told the leaders of the political groups, "wlU not understand us and will be greatly surprised if we hold elections now." The President appealed to the party leaders to -solve the Cabinet crisis in a Way which would permit tlie present government- to continue Its work "In the face ot the grave International complications and the internal political and
economic difficulties."

Maurice Bernstein Appointed United Jewish Fund Director
Ralph Lazarus, president of] the United Jewish Fund, an¬ nounced the appointment of Maurice Bernstein as the new executive director and presented him to the Board of Trustees at its meeting Feb. 8.
Mr. Lazarus stated: "Th'e ap¬ pointment of a professional dir¬ ector-marks a step forward In the progress of the United Jew¬ ish Fund and its local benefi¬ ciary agencies. We feel gratified that St is now possible for Co% lumbus to take Its place With other Jewish communities of the same size and with similar re¬ sponsibilities."
Maurice Bernstein begins his work In Columbus on Mar. 1. He has served as Associate on Community Organization Stud les of the Training Bureau for Jewi.sh Communal Services, the national training center for Td •mlnlstratlve personnel of social welfare agencies located in New Vork City. Mr. I3ernsteln received his pro¬ fessional education at the grad¬ uate school for Jewish Social Work of New York City. He has his Master's Degree from Co¬ lumbia University, and was a graduate of Reed College. Port¬ land. Ore.
Mr. Lazarus continued: "Our new executive director will tie- vote himself to further develop¬ ment of the already efficient
fund-i-aising mttchlnery. In this work he will have the continued devoted service of Miss Leah Rosenfeld, who retains her posi¬ tion as executive secretary, and who has served the UJF for many years.
"After Mr. Bernstein has re¬ organized the United Jewish Fund, he will concern himself. In addition, with the total prob¬ lem of integrating all social and philanthropic responsibilities of the Jewish community. In order to eliminate the duplication and overlapping of energies ,of the different organizations. It is in¬ tended that he will develop a blueprint for the total communi¬ ty which he will propose to the various Interests In the com¬ munity, with the hope of inte¬ grating them and, at the same time, retaining the loyalties antf zeal of those who have made thp different phases possible. , Ali modification will.be the result of cooperative action.
