Mrs. E. J. Gordon, program chair¬ man, announces that Mrs. Louis Mark, Mrs. Robert B. Greene and Mrs. Moe Hirsch will participate In the progrann. Mrs. Alfi*ed J. Ko¬ backer, president, will preside. Nomination end election of offi¬ cers will be held and the national president will install the newly- elected officers and board mem¬ bers. Mrs. Jack Wolman Is chair¬ man of- the nominating committee, assisted by Mesdames Harry Kohn, Jack Resier, Herman Katz and S. P. Edelman. Mrs. Abrams, a graduate of^Sim- mons College, was one of the foun¬ ders of the National Women's Com¬ mittee, the organization which has undertaken the development of the Brandeis University Library. Frank MR^ SHULAMITH WALD GUEST SPEAKER FOR MIZRACHI WOMEN'S ANNUAL DINNER SUNDAY AT AGUDAS ACHIM Guest speaker at the annual din¬ ner of the Columbia Chapter, Mls- rachl Women, tomorrow at 8 p. m. In the Agudaa Achim social hall, will be Mrs. Louis (Shulamlth) Wald, National vice-president of the Jfizrachi Women's Organiza¬ tion of America. Jerry Melmed Mrs. Wald, who is a member of the administrative and national boards, has been I a frequent visitor to ouv community, and her appear¬ ance here tomorrow is sure to de¬ light all who attend. Mrs. Wald has an excellent Jewish and gen¬ eral bacl<ground, being a graduate of Fcrdham University and the National Hebrew School. She Is considered one of the finest women orators in the country, and her brilliant presentations have evoked tho admiration of both the clergy and the laity in many activities. Mrs. Wald i*ecently returned from a two-month visit in Israel, where she went as a delegate to tho World Mizrachl Conference. While there ahe visited all the many in¬ stitutions sponaored by the Mizra¬ chi Women's Organization of A- merlca, and was in close contact with the thousands of children who are the beneficiaries of the chain of projects supported by the Mizrachl Women. In addition to the measage ot Mrs. Wald, greetings will be ex tended by local rabbis and other eminent personalities in our com¬ munity. The dinner, which is open to the public, is being prepared b^ the Gold Catering Co., which is' donating its services to~ Mizrachl for this affair. - (contlnaed on pace 8) Three more outstanding personalities have been added to the faculty of the highly-successful Insti¬ tute of Jewish Studies which wlil begin its second term Monday evening at tho Center. Prof. Jay Vogolbaum. of tho Department of English at Ohio 'State University, will conduct a course on The Old TestAmont and Contemporary Literature, with principal fobus on Thomas Mann s Joseph Stories. A unique course titled Bachgrounds of ,lewish Music is being offered for the first time In the his¬ tory of Columbus, with Mrs. Melville Frank, concert pianist and a leading authority on music, as the in structor of the course. Origins and development of Jewish and Israeli music will be presented by Mrs Frank, with piano and recorded music as illustrative material. Rabbi Harry Kaplan, known for his ability to bring Biblical history Into sharp focus in relation to contemporary society, will lead a course on The Bible and Modem .Man., Continuation of courses In Hebrew and Modern Jowlsh Thought will round out the six-course currl culum. Mr. Menachem Rottcnbcrg, Israell-liorn teacher of the Columbia/ftebrew School, will teach Elementary Hebrew II, for which last term's course in basic Hebrew wiil Jie a prerequisite. Mr. Harri¬ son, principal of Ifhc Hebrew School, will continue his Intermediate Hebrew course, in which simple jea^ings afitt'Conversatlon will be emphasized. A^ prerequisite for this course is the first term courstl or consent of the instructor.
