National Women s League Head To Address Conference Here
The Oliio-Kentucky Branch of the National Women's League of the United Synagogue of America will meet In conference at the Nell House April 13-15.
Mrs. Martin Shenker, local conference chairman, announces that the speaker for the banquet on April 14 at Broad St. Temple, 6:80 p. m., will be Mrs. Emanuel Slrter of Long Island, N. Y.
The career of Mrs. Slher, presi¬ dent of National Women's League, typifies that unique blending of American and Jewish cultures which the Conservative movertient holda up as an ultimate for Its ad¬ herents.
Mrs. Slner,. a graduate lawyer, studied at Columbia University and St. Lawrence University. A mem¬ ber of the New York State Bar, ahe Is one of the founders of the Queens County Women's Bar As¬ sociation.
Mrs. Slner la the wife of Dr. Emanuel Slner, and has two chil¬ dren.

In announcing their acceptance, Messrs. Abel and Yenkin stated: "This year we are attempting to Improve again our plana for the general solicitation of prospects in thn Men's Division. Women's Division Steering Committee
Plana for the 1933 "Llfc-SavIng Campaign" of the Women's Di¬ vision of the United Jewish Fund of Columbus were formulated and discussed at the firat meeting of the recently appointed Steering Committee, held laat week at the home of Mrs. Herbert Schlff.
The personnel of thu Steering Committee, which is composed of outstanding women leaders of the community, was announced by Mrs.

Jack Schlff of Columbus, execu¬ tive vice-president of the Shoo Corp. of America, haa accepted the post of National Chairman of the Shoe Industry Division of the Joint Defense Appeal.

Mr. Schlff, who Is first vice-pres. of the National Association of Shoe Chain Stores, is chairman of the Ohio and Kentucky Region of ADL

Men's Club Elects
Tlfereth Israel Men's Club will hold its nomination and election of officers in the form of a stag meet¬ ing Tueaday, 8:30 p. m., at Broad St. Temple.
Officers to be choaen for 10&3-&4 include president, three vice-presi¬ dents, aecretary, treasurer and a Board of Directors.

While Mrs. Newman Is in the city,'she will also addreas the new¬ ly-organized Young Matrons sec¬ tion of the local Women's Division, , whfch Is being headed for the first year of Ita activity by Mrs. William Gllck, with Mrs. Alvin Schotten¬ steln and Mrs. Oscar Weston aa her co-chairmen.
The Young Matrons' section Is an Innovation In the Women'a Division of Columbua, although its success In other communities has been phenomenal, and great things are expected  of  It  here.
It is designed especially to raise the level of participation of young married wonien in our eomnmnity, and a large and en- thuNliUitic group of Young Mat- ronfi ure already hard at work, planning the "Minimum Func¬ tion" to be held Wednesdaj' eve¬ ning, April 20.
