Theme of the annual meeting waa the change in program of the Jewish Family Service. Pres, Ben Yenkin stated: "Ours is no longer a relief agen¬ cy. We are now a modern casework agency. Our staff Is equipped to offer casework and counselling services to all membera of the Jewish community, regardleaa of economic status. WAKSMAN la congratulated hy King Guatav VI of Sweden after the famed scientist received the Nobel Prize for his discovery of streptomycin. B'NAI B'RITH TO INITIATI 100 NEW MEMBERS AT JAN. 13 MEETING Plana are being made by Zion Lodge 62 to initiate nearly 100 new B'nal B'rlth membera at the Jan. 13 meeting. Thla group is compoaed of men enlisted In the recent "GO" memberahlp campaign which waa con¬ ducted from November to tho firat of the year. It ahould be noted that Sol Zeldin and hla committee are atill atrlving to top the 100 mark by the night of the meeting. ' , Hadassah's Guest Speaker Thursday Youthful, charming and dynamic Mrs. Mortimer Jacobson of New York City will be the guest speaker at an' all-day board meeting of the Columbus Chapter of Senior Ha¬ daaaah Thursday. The meeting and luncheon will bo at the Jewiah Center starting at 10:30. Mrs. Jacobson Is a member of the National Board of Hadassah and la past president of the Bronx chapter. She was one of Hadassah's leading delegates to the historic 23rd World Zionist Congreaa in Israel during the summer ot lOfil. An indefatigable Hadasaah worker and leader for more than 10 years, Mrs. Jacobaon has held al¬ most every Important post In her local group and chapter.
