SIMON COHEN Resigns from Center Staff The Jewish Center Board of Di¬ rectors announces the resignation of Simon Cohen from ita staff. Mr. Cohen has been appointed Director of the Davison Branch of the Jew¬ ish Community Center of Detroit. He has been supervisor of the Center's Youth Department for nearly 3'/j years, during which the activity of that department ex¬ panded greatly. All divisions Junior, Intermediate, Teen-Age and Young Adults now thrive with well established programs. Among the projects he worked with closely were tho Sunday Fun' time, Winter Camp, Summer Day Camt Teen-Age Council and Youth Division of United Jewish Fund. Ho also was a Field work Instructor with the Ohio State Graduate School of^ Social Admin¬ istration. SI was also a member of Asfudas Achim Congregation ^d its Youth Committee. He waA president of the Opium' bus Chapter of American Asso¬ ciation of Group Workers, a mem¬ ber of the executive iMard of Uie dolumbus Chapter of the National Association of Group Workers. Norman Friedberg will chant a major portion of the service, Alan Hackei will conduct the Kiddush, Barbara Davis will read a responsive reading and Francine Turner will offer the closing, prayer. Dr, Marvin Fox. director of the Institute, will resume his lectures based on "Sayings of the Fathers" <Pirkei Avoth) in response to re¬ quests by many students who at¬ tended earlier courses In the series. Rabbi Samuel Rubenstein, whose Introductory course on the bible at¬ tracted widespread Interest, will lead a course on the bible, begin¬ ning with Abraham and continuing through Isaac, Jacob and Joseph and his brothers. Emphasis a fthe course will be on the Pentateuch as the moral basis of Judaism.
