utilizing the vast amount of manpower and womanpower at its command, thc B'nal B'rith fund-raising project, the 1955 Menorah Ball donor, moved Into high gear this week, with the beginning of calls for donor pledges by an army of workers. With Mrs. Frank Yassen¬ off as general chairman, donor pledges for the event (at Valley Dale, Sunday evening, Nov. 20) were being taken by a large group of work¬ ers. The initial response Indicated that the Ball this year will be one of the largest and most successful In the 17-year fund-raising history ol B'nal B'rith In Columbus.
According to Mrs. Yassenoff, a recent visit to this city by Marty Kane, booking agent for top quali¬ ty cabaret and night club enter¬ tainment, was made solely for thc purpose of arranging en evening of entertainment' for the delight of Menorah Ball pledge donora. Those who attended last year's affair will recall the outstanding quality of the stars presented then, such as Mark Andrews and Napoleon Reed. This year's show promises to be even better. ¦
Always a highlight of the eve¬ ning is the souvenir program and recipe book, and with the assist¬ ance of the men, the book this year will be a worthy successor to form¬ er editions. Mrs. Gary Kerstejn and Mrs. Robert Goldberg are chairmen of advertising solicita¬ tion, and according to them, merchants and advertisers this year have been more than gener¬ ous in their response to the addi¬ tional needs being made upon the local lodge and chapter' for in¬ creased Dunds.
