Enthusiastic Workers Gathered at Center Before Embarking
UJF YOUNG ADULTS NOTE INCREASES
Gordon Zacka, general chairman of the Young Ault Division of Lhe 1956 UJF drive, announcea the results o( the first phase of the campaign.
Donations so far total $2300, given by about 200 people. "The average donation of $10.50 per per¬ aon represents an increase of 100^ over last years average donation," states Mr. Zacks. "The same peo¬ ple last year gave $960."
$1,00 of the total was pledged at the Special Event of Aprir29, from 60 people. Tho balance was col¬ lected from aorvicemen and from about 130 people contacted In the flrat week of general solicitation. Fifty workera rang doorbells to obtain thoac pledgea, and tljey atill have records of 150 persons as yet not contacted.
Any donations made during, the remaining general solicitations will be aupplemented by returns from a college affair to be h^ld'ln June, for the young people who were a- way at achool during the regular drive.
B'NAI B'RITH INSTALLATION DANCE AT AGUDAS ACHIM SYNAGOGUE TONIGHT
"Something to ault everyone's taste" might well be the theme of B'nai B'rith Zion Lodge and Chapter's joint installation dance tonight, 8:16( at Agudaa Achim Synagogue. Members and frienda of B'nai B'rith will find some of their very favorite people being Installed aa officers for the coming year. Thla time, both the Lodge and Chapter will combine their Inatallatlon ceremonies, welcoming in the new and paying tribute to the outgoing officers and prealdenta, Dr. B. T. Mlnd¬ lln and Mrs. Meyer Hoffman.
The installation proceedings, ar¬ ranged as befits the synagogue proper, will be conducted by I. W. Garek and Mra. MUton Leeman, second vlcc-prealdcnt of Wom¬ on'a District Grand Lodge 2.
Following the 45-mlnute , inslal- i lation ceremony, the formal part ! of the evening enda and the fun ! and festivities begin. For thij i rhythm minded, there will be '¦ dancing to the music of Donny Ketter'8 orchestra. Light refresh¬ menta will be aerved during thei evening by hostesses of Zion Chap¬ ter. TEMPLE'S STAG AT WINDING HOLLOW
All facilities of Winding Hollow Country Club will be made avail¬ able to paid-up members of Tem¬ ple Israel Brotherhood Thursday for the annual stag dinner which starts at 7 p. m. That Includes the golf course, in the afternoon.
Guest speaker for the evening will be Don L- Crawford ot Day- ion, administrative assistant ex¬ ecutive of the Miami Volley Council for Boy Scouts of America and editor of the popular Miami Valley "Scouter," a publication which has won several awarda for the Coun¬ cil and its editor.
Mr. Crawford was selected Day¬ ton's "Outstanding Young Man of 1054" and one of the five "Out- ' standing Young Men In Ohio,'' Those honors brought distinguish¬ ed aervice awards f;:om the U. S. Junior Chamber of Commerce and a resolution from the Ohio Houae of Repreaentatives.

Mlzrachi Women's Organization of Columbus will hold Its annual installation Wednesday, May 23, 1 p. m., at''Agudas Achim Synagogue.
Last Sunday, the Jewish Center auditorium waa the scene of a gathering of more than 400 volun¬ teers In the Men's General Solici¬ tation, Young Adult and Junior divisions. David Goldsmith, Gordon Zacks and Beverly Schecter, chair¬ men of the divisions, expressed tholr appreciation to their respec¬ tive groups for the response turn¬ out.
Program for the day consisted of a breakfast, followed by instruc¬ tions to the solicitors, a movie featuring Frederic March In "None Shall Make Them Afraid." and then the calling of prospects at their homea„

MELLMAN HEADS'BOILER ROOM SQUAD'
David Goldamlth, chairman of UJF'S General Solicitation Division, announced thla week a novel experiment would be tried in an attempt to complete coverage of cards In his Division. Myer Mellman, one of the vice-chairmen of the group, la chairing a apecial comlttee of experienced campaigners who will try to contact aa many people aa possible who were missed last Sunday, to see if their pledges can be secured. The volunteers are sched¬ uled to man telephones Wednesday evening In hopes of securing pledges In order to expedite winding up the campaign.
