Cotumbus chapter of Senior Hadassah this week announced that Cantor David Kusevitsky will be the featured soloist for the 28th annual donor dinner, Nov. 4, at the Jewlah Center.
Cantor Kusevitsky Is world famous. He will preaent a pro¬ gram of varied aelectlona con¬ sisting of a few precious can- torial numbers and Yiddish, Is¬ raeli, operatic, Leider and folk songs.
Cantpr Kusevitsky Is from a famous family. As a child, he joined the choir In Vllna Chor- Schooi, and later the Vllna Great Synagogue. He then entereterd the Vllna Academy of Music.
At the affe of 18, he was.invited to take over as choir leader of synagogues In Kremanica, Lem- berg and Rovno until he waa con¬ scripted into the Polish Army. On his discharge 18 months later, he went to Warsaw where he stud¬ ied voice production, under dif¬ ferent professors. He joined the cantorial ranks and scored an immediate success. He officiated in various cltlea in Europe until he decided to accept the poat of Chief Cantor in Rovno.
Three years later, still a young man in his middle 20'8, tho can¬ tor accepted a call to the Hendon Synagogue In the metropolis of London. He remained there 12 years, during which time he was lecturer fit Jews* College of Ch'uanuth.

Sheriff Ralph T. Paul will be main speaker for Beth Jacob Brotherhood's first meeting of 1956-57 Thursday, Oct. 11, 8:15 p. m., at the synagogue.
On the agenda for the meeting is nominations of officers for the new season. Electlona will be held Nov. 1.
A smoker will be the highlight of the election meeting, honoring Rabbi Solomon Poupko, spiritual leader of Beth Jacob Congrega¬ tion. The rabbi will be married Nov. 11 In New York City.

The Council, through meetings of its delegate body and appro¬ priate committees, brings to the attention of the representatives matters of general concern, such as community relatlona, Jewlah education, clearance of major meeting dates, and a variety of Interests which require coordi¬ nation and cooperation among the memberships of organiza¬ tions.
