BIG GIFTS AFFAIR AT WINDING HOLLOW CLUB TUESDAY
The climax of the 10S7 Special Gifts Division phase of the United Jewish Fund campaign will be reached Tuesday Qvening In the new Winding Hollow Country Club. Herbert A. Friedman, executive vice-chairman of the United Jew-- Ish Appeal, will be guest speaker. Mr. Friedman Is well known for his Inspirational messages In be¬ half of tho International Overseas Relief Organizi^tion, United Jew¬ ish Appeal.
Mr. Zacks is convinced from the manner In which tho cam¬
paign Is proceeding at this time, that the results to be announced that evening will, in a large measure, assure the success of this year's campaign.
The community, he stated, fully realizes the crisis which faces so many thousands of Jews fleeing tor their lives and seek¬ ing a haven, particularly In Is¬ rael. This crisis is being hiet
generously nationally and in' Co¬ lumbus.
Tuesday will bring the oppor¬ tunity to demonstrate that Co¬ lumbus too will meet its fair share of the national goal of the Emergency Rescue Fund of $100.- 000,000.
The affair, as in the past, Is sponsored by the Campaign Cabi¬ net, and all prospective contribu¬
tors of $100 and over are invited as guests.
Those who may not have al¬ ready sent in their reservations are urged to do bo, or ta call the Ufiited Jewish Fund office, CA. 1-5181.
With the new facnittcfl made available to the UJF by the Winding Hollow Country Club, tho overflow crowd may be ac¬
commodated, but Mr. Zacks urges that early reservations be made to assure being taken care of.
A highlight of the affair will be the musical presentation of tho Young Matrons Division, which has met with such tre¬ mendous success at other func¬ tions.

Local Women Set Sights on 'W Day Thursday; Majors, Workers Meet Wednesday
Approximately 360 majors and workers will gather for a dessert luncheon Wednesday, 1 p. m., at the Jewish Center, in behalf of the 1967 United Jewish Fund campaign. On Thursday, several thousand members of the Colum¬ bus Jewish community will have an unparalleled opportunity to make their contributions to this year's crucial UJF drive.
That date marks **W" Day, the traditional, city-wide one-day so¬
licitation, tn which more than 350 workers—members of the Wom¬ en's Division General Solicitation — will contact some 2000 homes In the Columbus area In their quest for ie57's goal of $826,000.
Workers will be calling upon donors between the hours of 9 a. m. and l p. m. They will be pre¬ pared to answer fully all ques¬ tions relating to the drive.

They are more than con¬ cerned for the 100,000 Jewish men, women and children fleeing the new totrflitarianiam -- they are deterinlncd to make sacrifices in order to save valuable lives."
Mrs, Getz alao predicted record Individual giving on the part of the women of the community.
"Our women see the urgent need of continuing to strengthen Important health and welfare services both here and overseas, and they will, I am certain, con¬ tinue to express their deep con¬ cern by making larger personal campaign gifts."
Mrs. Getz reported -that all-out advance preparations — Including thorough training sessions — ore being made to assure the success of "W" Day. She urged the com¬ munity to make certain that the woman of the household remains home next Thursday to welcome the worker.
The progrom to bo presented at the dessert luncheon has been arranged by Mra. M. J. Papurt and Mrs. Alien Gundcrsheimer Sr. Educational material and workers' kits will be distributed. Arrangements for the affair were made by Mesdames David Gold¬ smith, chairman; Leon Friedman, Joseph Skilken, Harry Schwartz and Richard Abel.
