Nlcolay Timofeyew, operatic tenor, will open the 1958 Cultural Seriea of the Jewish Center with a concert Saturday, Jan. 18, 8:30 p. m.. In tl)e Center auditorium. It wos announced by Mrs. Melville D. Frank, chairman of the Adult Activities Committee.
Second event In the scries will be the distinguished lecturer, Max Lerner, dean of the Graduate School of Brandels University and dally columnist for the New York Post. Mr. Lerner will speak Thurs¬ day, Feb. 20.
Final program In the series will be presented by the Westchester Opera Theatre Thuraday, March 6, with a condensed operatic ver¬ sion of the classic play "The Golem" and a concert of Jewish music making up the evening's bill.
Mr. Timofeyew haa appeared In siich famous theatres as ,"La Scala" of Milan, the "San Carlo" of Npples, the Verdi Theatre of IHorence as well aa many on operatic stages In Paris, London, Vienna, Budapest, Rome, Santiago and Buenos Aires. He has been acclaimed for his magnificent voice and brilliant interpretations of his Immense repertoire. Prof. Max Lerner, best known for his books. It Is Later Than You Think, Ideas Are Weapons
and the monumental America As A Civilization, has traveled widely, was a war correspondent in Ger¬ many during World War 2, and has written extensively from Lon¬ don, Paris, Yugoslavia and Israel. At present he combines the life of a working journalist and a university teacher with extensive lecturing throughout the United States.
The Westchester Opera Theatre has delighted audiences with their musical and dramatic talents combining to bring to life the legendary "C h e I m" and "The
Golem," as well as traditional opera and Jewish music concert programs. ^

The new Children's Homo In Israel, nestled In the Judean Hills near Ramat Gan, will be the beneficiary of all proceeds from the annual sales tax dinner and Style show to be given at llonka's Provincial House Tuesday eve¬ ning, Jan. 21, by B'nal B'rith Women.
Built along the cottage plans, with Individual attention for each of the children housed there, the Home Is the only one In the State of Israel dedicated to the rehabll- .itfttlon of mentally retarded or

affairs have enabled Zlon Chapter to send a refrigerator to the Home, to completely furnish and equip a room In one of the cot¬ tages In honor of Mrs. J, D. Schec¬ ter, during her encumbency as president of the Women's Dis¬ trict, and to help maintain and support the work of this haven of health and refuge for children In Israel.
Admission to the dinner and style show will be by sales tax stamps, $200 per person In stamps, or $6 per person In cash.

An Interval of entertainment, featuring Mrs. Iz Gurevitz and Mrs. Gary Kersteln, accompanied
