The Columbua Committee is one of 111 similar community groups throughout ' the United States which have organized to mark Israel's tenth anniversary in this country. The national celebration is being carried on under the
auspices of the American Com¬ mittee for Israel's tenth eumivers- ary celebration.

A community choreil group is being formed for the anniversary celebration' June i. Anyone inter- jested should attend the first meeting Monday, 8 p. m., at the Jewish Center. Cantor Irvlnjg Schreier of Temple Israel wdll conduct the choir.
Invitations Sent to 2000 Local Women to UJF 'Affair of Year'
More than 2000 women In Co¬ luinbus have received Invitations to the "Affedr of the Year," spon¬ sored by the Women's Division of the United Jewisb Fund. The party is at the Jewish Center Wednesday, 7:30 p. m. .So that 100% of the funds con¬ tributed can be turned over to the United Jewish Fund for over- aeas relief and local needs, the women will be charged $1 to de¬ fray expenaes.
Highlight of the evening will be an address by Dr. Bernard H. Casper.'Deaii of students at tbe Hebrevy University In Jerusalem, and one ot Jewry'il ttiost vigdrous and effective leaders.
BnfiUsh by birth. Dr. Casper studied tor the rabbinate at Jevra College In London, a famoud theo¬ logical seminary. He then attend¬ ed Cambridge University, where be specialized In English litera¬ ture and anthropology. At Ceun- brldge, he was a contemporary of Abba Ebem. After graduating from Ceunbridge with an M. A., Dr. Camper became the rabbi of an important congregation In Manchester.
In 1940, Dr. Casper took leave of his congregation to serve In Britedn'a armed forcea as a chap- laiii during World War n. After «ervlng tn Bngland for two years, he was transferred to Bgypt where, when the Jewish Brigade vras formed, he organized its chaplaincy and beceime its Chief Cbapledn.
After V-E Day, the Brigade vi^tibae members were largely Pal¬ estinian Jewa, was active In help¬ ing Jewish DPs from Central Europe get ihto Italy and Into the underground reiilway to Israel — the famed Aliyah Bet — "illegal" immigration operation.

FOR FORUM
Tomorrow, Walter Birge, prom¬ inent businessman and former diplomat, will speak at the Sun¬ day Evening Forum of the B'nai B'rlth Hillel Foundation.
Mr. BIrge recently returned from an extensive tour of Ontral and Latin Americei, during which time he assimilated numerous in¬ teresting and enlightening facts concerning problems of United States-Latin American relationa.
The theme of hia tallf will be; "Latin America: Looking Toward the United Statea."
Mr. Efirg? graduated from Har¬ vard in 1935 and continued hia postgraduate studies in Political Science emd Finance at the Uni¬ versity of London and later at the (jcbrge Waahington Univera- ity. From 1941 to 1955, he served in the Diplomatic Corps as a Foreign Service Officer mainly associated with the U. S. Embasay In Turkey.
Prom 1955 to 1967, Mr. Birge waa associated with the Financial Service on Wall Street.
He is currently affiliated with the Ranco Corporation of Colum¬ bus in the capacity of Export Manager.
