In accepting her new position, Mrs. Curl pointed out that the 1960 campaign will mark the 10th year of the Israel Bond drive, which was launched in the United Statea In 1951 by Israel's Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion.
"Aa THB ISRAJBL Bond effort enters its 10th year," stated Mrs. Curl, "the accomplishments of the country's economic potential, and past provide the basis for accel¬ erated economic development in the future.

the pickets who have prevented unloading of its cargo since April 13.
KISE3VHOWBR recalled, at the press conference, his 1967 pledge to support Israel rights to peace¬ ful passage In the Suez Canal and cited Nasser's contention of a "state of war" with Israel £W3 his justification for the canal block¬ ade.
Said the President: "I don't know what you can do unless you want to resort to force and I am certain that we're not trying to settle Intemational problems with force. We have done everything we could to make It clearer that we stand by our commitments and we think that othef nations should do the same, particularly when it comes to the free use of the Suez Canal. But I don't know that there is any Idea whatsoever of making a new step in this di¬ rection or new argument because I think it's all been said."
Attorneys for the Seafarers In¬ ternational Union, which has been picketing the Cleopatra at an E^st River pier, and for the In- terrtatlohal Loiigshoremen's Union which has refused to cross the picket lines to unload the vessel, made the position of the unions clear.
THEY TOLD the U.S. OircuJt Court of Appeals three - judge panel that the picketing would continue until the "Nasser Gov¬ ernment changes its policy to¬ ward American ships dealing with Israel." The picketing, the at¬ torneys candidly declared, was "directly calculated' to hit the Nasser regime "where it is most sensitive, in its own pocketbook."
Prior to taking the case to the Circuit Court, the attorneys for the Khedivlal Mall Line of Alex¬ andria, nominal owners of the
Cleopatra, lost three earlier ac¬ tions ta New York federal courts to halt the costly picketing.
Seymour W. Miller, attorney for the Seafarers, told the court that the action is a pure labor dispute. "More than 100 American Ships," he said, "have been black¬ listed by the UAR for trading In Israeli ports. On these ships alone, more than 6000 American seamen's joba are involved.
THE DEPARTMENT of Agri- culture has stipulated that no charters for carrying US. surplus commodities to Egypt will be granted to American ships on the UAR blacklist. Until recently, the Navy Department also had such

Anti-Semitic Outbreaks In Germany Are Investigated
BAD WORISHGFBN, Bavaria (WUP)—A former German High School teacher, Studlensprofessor George Spumy of this city, who, during the past year has been studying Judaica with the view of adopting Judaism, has just completed a private investigation of the recent anti-Semtic outbreaks In various parts of Germany.
Interviewed l>y the World Union Press here, the prospective Proselj^e to Judiaiam revealed that in a number ot the smaller towns an-d villages he visited he discov¬
ered numeroua "clandestine Nazis posing as good (Catholics or Pro¬ testants." He stated that most of them were older persons who had been active Nazis in the past.
ENDEAVOKINO to present an objective picture of what he found during his InvesUgatlon, Spumy handed the WUP reporter a writ¬ ten account of Ills findings which read, in part:
"One cannot explain the origin of the recent anti-Semitic inci¬ dents in Germany with a mere sentence and declare: "There is a revival of anti-Semitism among Germans.' It isn't as simple aa that. It Is much more complicated. One must avoid any generaliza¬ tion. The situation today is a far cry from that which existed in Hitler's time. Even in Germany there are many people of good

will—healthy-thinking, democratic and open-minded to ethical ideas, especially among the younger gen¬ eration. Of course, one finds many opportunists; but the number of frank Nazis and anti-Semites is not large. Nevertheless, in the smaller towns and villages there are a number of clandestine Nazis posing as good Catholics or Protestants. They visit private homes (aa members of various associations) where they instigate their anti-Semitic acts of violence. Most of them are old Nazi party members.
"THEN WE have a large num¬ ber of persons who we might term partly Nazi-minded nationalists. These, too, are former members of the Nazi party; many of them are refugees, especially from Hun. gary Eind the Sudeteniland and from Czechoslovakia. They may be estimated as constituting about 30 per cent of the population.
"I found that these aemi-Nazl- mlnded nationallsta — most ot whom are against Hitler today only because he lost the war— hold influential posta in Aden¬ auer's Christian-Union Govern¬ ment Party (C.D.V.) and in the German Refugee Party (B.H.BI.). Also, it must l>e stated tliat nu¬ merous former active Nazis hold high positions In the Adenauer Government. 'The same holds true in professional asisociatlons.
"Let me cite one typical exam¬ ple of how anti-Jewlalmess haa crept into the professions. Take the case of Raphael Schermann. Between 1920-1938 he was the most reputed graphologist of Europe and probably of the world. Ho waa a Jew taken to Auschwitz where he waa murdered.
