It Is a period that carries both a Promise and a Reminder for Israel and man¬ kind as a whole. But people, generally, are prone to forget and Israel Is no exception. The Tanach, the Blueprint ot Life and the true Hiistory Book pt the world, contains manifold "promises" and "reminders" and this period of time is a good time to take note and reflect. First, we must never forget that the Taiuwsh does not lie. In¬ deed, the Creator is watching over Hiia Word to fulfill It. We children of Israel have been in "exile'' almost 2,000 years, scattered and tossed about from land to land, and who can¬ not fall to see that in our time the Rock of Ages has begun to restore the House of Israel to Its ancient estate, having "saved the tents of Judah first" by re¬ surrecting this Brother-tribe of Josoph withiin the ancient con¬ fines of the Holy Land? Thus, promises are being kept by the One who alone keeps pro¬ mises. But, have we kept our pledge? Have we abided by the Covenant entered into at Sinai? Let us reflect deeply at this sea¬ son. Are w^ pursuing justice and righteousness? Are we ready to face the "day" that shall "burn as an oven?" The "Blueprint" contajins both a "promise" and a "reminder." Cautioned Malachl the prophet; "For, behold, the day cometh— it shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, and all that work wickedness, shall be as stubble. And the day that cometh shall set them ablaze, saith the Lord of hosts, ajid it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But un¬ to you that tear My Name, shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in 'Her' wings. . . Remember ye the law of Moses My servant, which 1 commanded him 'n Horeb for all Israel, even statutes and ordinances. "Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet, before the coming ot the Day of the Lord, the great UJFC Makes Assignments Of Committee Chairmen This has not been accidental This has ail happened within a I ^^3 jjie terrible, prophetic pattern as the cycle Are we ready? of the Earth's calendar moves —^Davld Benarone, WUP The World's Week Compiled from JTA Reports In Washington, Dr. Joseph Schwartz, vice-president of the Israel Bond Organization, announced that Israel will pay out to American investors in the coming year $24,500,000.
