Dr. Folkman stated:
"For many years, I have been looking for an individual whose Ufe and character are typical of the average man or woman in the rank and file of Jewish life. .¦ ¦^hat I have been waiting for is an incident that would call atten tion to one particular person whom I might cite as an example of the extraordinariness - of IVTr, Average Man or Mrs. Average Women. "Abrahaip Zapruder was com pietely unwilling to derive any per sonal profit from his pictures, it was not until he realized that the best way to make these pictures available for history was through a private enterprise that he con sented to sell them, but he imme diately directed all of the proceeds to the bereaved family of Patrol man J. "Were it not for this incident." continued Dr. Folkman, "we prob ably would never have -heard of Abraham Zapruder. Now the whole world knows about him. His life is an inspiring example of the nobili ty of the common man."
