Billy Carter Criticized!
For Anti-Semitic
Insinuations
ATLANTA <WNS)-Presi-
dent Carter is being urged to
"dissociate himself and his
Administration from the recent actions and derogatory
statements" about Jews by
his brother, Billy. The demand came Jan. 11 from the
Anti-Defamation League of
B'nai B'rith whose regional
office has criticized Billy
Carter for sponsoring an official visit from Libya which is
seeking to establish a
Libyan-Georgia Friendship
Society. Stuart Lewengrub,
the ADL's regional director,
also called "untrue and
inane" Billy Carter's'charge'
that Atlanta Mayor Maynard
Jackson refused Jan. 10 to
see the Libyan group because of "Jewish pressure."
Lewengrub called the
charge "the latest example
of his (Billy Carter's) anti-
1 Semitic insinuations."
I Lewengrub denies that the
: ADL told the Mayor who he
J should or should not meet,'
"It seems to us that Billy
Carter is falling more and
• more into the pattern' of
blaming. Jews for -his own,
"display 'of poor judgement,""
Lewengrub declared. "Billy-
would do better to take an
objective look at the policies
! and practices of the Libyan
government whose representatives he and his friends are
hosting, their support of
world-wide terrorism and
their absolute hostility to the
Middle East peace effort
currently underway." During a reception for the
Libyan' delegation Jan. 9,
Ronni Drandoss, national director of the Conference of
Jewish Activists, a newly-
formed group headed by
Rabbi' Meir, Kahane which
describes itself as "non-violent," disrupted the meeting

most powerful forces for
good to emerge in this century. His determination, eloquence and leadership made
for the greatest advance in
the emancipation of Black
Americans since Abraham
Lincoln.
In- .remembering Dr.
King's birthday this week

show a renewed determination to achieve Dr. King's
dream of the time when a
person will not be judged by
the color of one's skin, but by
the content of one's character. ..
