To affirm, this antithesis is to lead the public astray, to alienate men and women of intelligence from the Bible, and to promote rather tljari to over¬ come unbelief. The details of this new society which is being formed with the pairticipation of prominent American Jews who are active in the Joint Distribution. Commit- . tee work;will he announced, shortly, Mr. Rosenberg stated. ' This much is known —there, will be ho public campaign for the additional $5,000,000, it being expected that the example set by Mr..Rosenwald will be followed ¦ by many substantial subscriptions, *,
"The Russian government, which has cooperafetl effectively throughout the work of the American Jewish Joint Ag¬ ricultural Corporation, through .the aid of which 100,000 Jews have settled on up¬ wards of one million ilicres of land within the past four years, thus,becoming self- .snppbVting farmers, has given satisfac¬ tory assurances of continued and in¬ creased assistance," Mr. Rosenberg stated.

Mr. Rosenberg explained.
Dr. Joseph Rosen, who headed the work of the Agrojoint in Russia, will be in charge of the new work to be un¬ dertaken. The plau has the enthusiastic support of leading American Jews. ¦¦ In conmienling upon, Mr. Rosenwald's sub.^cription, which constitutes the larg¬ est single cpntribution of duy Jewish philanthropist to Jewish relief work, Mr. Rosi^nberg declared: "Mr. Rosenwald, wtio has already contributed largely, makes, this new and truly splendid con¬ tribution conditioned on another $-5,000,000 being raised, so as to make a total of >10;000,QOO for a long time continuance of this work in the CVimea and the Ukraine."

The death of Miss Sylvia Wolman, after an illiicss of three months is bcini? moiirned by many friends and relatives in CoUimbus. Mijs Wolman came to thfs country from Poland about five years ago,* and resided in this city with her parents, Mr, and Mrs. Betrjamin WolniUn, 680 Parsons avenue. She was 2*1 years of age .and is survived by her phrents, three brothers, and tliree sjistcrs. Robert, Walter, jean and Clara of Co¬ lumbus,,aiid.Meyer and Anna of Poland.
Funeral services took place at her re¬ cent residence Monday afternoon, With Rabbi Isaac Werne and Cantor Ansel Frceiiian, officiating. Intermeiit was made in the Jewish Cemetery under the direction of the O'Shaughnessy Co.

Weizmann said that .in addition to stimulating activities-of the Palestine fund-raising agency he intended to con¬ clude .final negotiations for the Jewish Agency. He reported that practically all the investigators who were j?ent lo Palestine, by; the Survey Commission have cortipleted their research work and that their reports arc in. While he is in this -Country, Dr.AVeizmann'will ar¬ range for a meeting of the Agency Coni- niissiqners which include Sir Alfred Mond,, Felix Warburg, Lee K. Frankel and  Dr. .Oscar Wassermann.

"According to the latest reports ^vhich I have received from the Homeland, the sitriation is steadily improving.. If only we would, have carried on our, part of the budget, there would have been no sign of stringency whatever in Palestine. With $oO,000 a month more from the United States, the difficult conditions would have been entirely liquidated."

A native of Palestine, he received his early education in the Holy Land and later in the universities of Paris and Berlin. He is al the present time, edi¬ tor of the-Doar Hayoam, the Hebrew daily paper ot Jerusalem, and is also the editor of the Palestine Weekly, an English paper.
