Real Neth, one df the best- liked managers and operators of local independently - owned theatres, is this Saturday opien- ing the Hartman Theatre, where he will feature a combination of vaudeville and photoplay en¬ tertainment. This news will bc welcomed by the readers of the Chronicle, most of whom re¬ member the splendid vaudeville performances brought to this city when Mr. Neth was man¬ aging the James Theatre (now the Broad).
A cordial invitation is ex¬ tended to ,the entire Jewish community 'to visit the Hart¬ man, which opens Saturday with five acts of vaudeville, n lirst run picture and short fea¬ tures. It will be Mr. Neth's policy to give the best amuse¬ ment obtainable at the lowest possible prices. Road shows will also be shown at the Hart¬ man this coming fall and win¬ ter season. Annual Congregational Din¬ ner of Temple Israel To Take Place May 14
Sidney G. Kusworm of Dayton and Columbus, Ohio, one of the outstanding leaders in the B'nai B'rith organization, will be the guest speaker at the annual congregational dinner-meeting of the Bryden Road Temple on Sunday evening. May 14th. Mr. Kuswontn'a ability as a speaker is well known in Columbus Jewi.sh circles, as he has appeared before Cotumbus audiences frequently on various occasions.
¦ A very delicious dinner will, be pre¬ pared under the supervision of a special committee headed'by Mrs. L Wolf and Mrs. Charles Cahcn. The numerous re¬ ports of the various activities held dur¬ ing the past year will be made by the chairmen of respective committees and organizations pf "the Temple. Lena Platzer Memorial Fund
With the money received for the Lena Platzer Memorial Fund, the Tifereth Is¬ rael Sisterhood purchased two beautiful ases for the pulpit of the East Broad Street Temple. During Boys' season of Camp Schon¬ thal, which opens July 23d lor a five- week period, Dr. Joseph L. Levin, Cleve¬ land, Ohio, graduate physician of Ohio State University, will return in the ca¬ pacity of camp physician.
Dr. Levin has Ijad practical experience at St. John's Hospital, Cleveland. He has also been counsellor at Camp Schon¬ thal for several years aud served as camp doctor during the 1031 season.
With the able supervision of Mr. I^uis Kaplan, recreational director at Camp Schonthal, the program of activi¬ ties was highly successful.
Mr. Kaplan, graduate of University of Tennessee, received his M. A. degree at Ohio State University. For the past two years he has been physical directoi of the Hermine Schoufhal Center. We are happy to announce that he will again serve as boys'. recreational director at Camp Schontlial.
Registrations from Columbus and other cities, are being received daily. Camp Schonthal oiTers a diversified healthful program, excellent food and a real vacation for the nominal sum of ten dollars per week.

At their last regular meeting of the year the Colijmbus unit of Junior .Ha¬ dassah'reelected ..Miss Hilda Mendel, 867 Neil Avenue, as president of the organi¬ zation. Miss Kuthryn Baker, 898 Lin¬ wood Avenue, wias elected First Vice President, and Miss Cecelia Krakoff, 138 Wilson Avenue, Second Vice President. Other officers. elected are Miss Esther Schecter, Recording Secretary, Miss Bess Freireich, Corresponding Secretary, Miss Eva Shiffman, Treasurer and Miss Ida , Neuer, Financial Secretary.
Newly-elected members of the Board are Miss Eve Baker, Miss Min Olander; Miss Rose Schalit, Miss (Frances Schreiber, Miss Gussie Smoler, Misa Nell Stctelman, Miss Rose Stctelman, Miss Janet Wasserstrom, Miss. Rose Winter and Miss Reva Zuravsky.. Miss Tillie J. Berliner, Miss Tessie Gross-1 man and Miss Eva Wolman will also i serve on the Board for the coming year.
The activities for the year culminated in the very successful bazaar which the orgjuiizatioh sponsored recently at the Southern Hotel. The group is very grateful for the splendid cooperation, it received in this project from-the many Columbus firms and individuals and from its affiliated organizations, the Columbus Chapter of Senior HatUiSsah, the Young' Judea, Bud Hadassah and the Ohio State University chapter of Junior Ha¬ dassah.

The Taharath Hamishpoche Society, which was recently organized, will hold a mass meeting on Sunday afternoon, May 7, at 2 p. m. This meeting will he held at the Agudath Achim Congrega¬ tion. Very important matters of inter¬ est to the Jewish community will be brought up for discussion. Rabbis Leo¬ pold Greenwald and Mordecai Hirsch¬ sprung will be the guest speakers of the afternoon.
The officers of the organization are: Mrs. Jacob Schottenstein, President; Mrs. H. Cooiier, Mrs. H. Canter, and Mrs. S, Mendelman, Vice Presidents; Mrs. E. Spitzman, Treasurer: Mrs. Jack Winter, Financial Secretary.
John W. Bricker, Atty. Gen. of Ohio, to Address B'nai B'rith on Mothers' Day
Attorney General John W. Bricker has accepted the invitation to deliver the chief address at the annual Mothers' Day celebration to be held on Sunday evening. May Hth, at the East Broad Street Temple, at 8 o'clock, under the auspices of the Zion Lodge No. 62, B'nai B'rith.
The B'nai B'rith ritual for this pro gram will be conducted by the Degree Team. Harry L, Schwartz will preside.
Ruth Eleanor Stern and Sidney Pol¬ lock will furnish the music for the occa^ sion. Flowers will be presented to the mothers. All Chronicle readers as well as members oi the B'nai B'rith are cor¬ dially invited to attend the Mothers' Day program.
Temple Sisterhood to Hold
Final Meeting of Season
Next Tuesday
The Rose E. Lazarus Sisterhood will hold its iinal meeting of the season in the form of 'a luncheon on Tuesday, May &, at 12 noon in the banquet hall of the Bryden Road Temple: The lunch¬ eon will be under the supervision of Mrs. Harry Freidenberg and her committee. Mrs. Charles Frosh and Mrs. .Isaac Wolf are in charge" of the hostesses.
Following the luncheon, Rabbi Samuel Gup will deliver an address on "The Ten Greatest Jews of All Times." A musical program will be presented by Mrs. Celia Kahn Rosenthal. As a part of the afternoon's program, the dedica¬ tion of the Meta Marx Lazarus Alcove will take place, with Mrs. Jack Einstein of Cleveland giving the dedication ad¬ dress. Mrs. W. A. Hersch, president of the Sisterhood,. will present the li¬ brary to the Congregation.
Annual reports will be rendered by the various chairmen, and election of officei-s will be held. The nominees ito fill the vacancies on the Boai-d are !Mes- dames Blanche Fox, Harry Frosh, Sam¬ uel M. Gup and Harry Kohn. . Dele¬ gates to the National Convention of the Union of American Hebrew Congrega¬ tions, which, will be held in Chicago June 18-22, will be appointed.

Young Folks League 2nd An¬ nual "Ballyhoo" May 9
The 2iid annual "Ballyhoo" and din¬ ner of the Young Folks League of Tem¬ ple Israel will be held on Tuesday eve¬ ning, May 9, at 7 p. ni., at the Winding Hollow City Club. An original pro¬ gram has been written by Mark D. Feinknopf, Saimiel Luchs, Sidney Basch, Katherine Goodman, and Alice Loeb, and will be presented by nine members of the organization following the dinner. Election of officers will also take place at tins time.

Local Jews Plan Protest Meet¬ ing Against Nazi Persecu¬ tion of Jews
In conjunction with a general protest against the Nazis to be held in various cities throughout the United States on May 10, the Zionist organization of Co¬ lumbus is calling a meeting of repre¬ sentatives of all Jewish organizations in Columbus to discuss the advisability of having a mass protest meeting here.
This meeting will be held in the Schon¬ thal Community House Wednesday eve¬ ning, May lOth, at 8:30 p. m., under the chairmanship of Dr. B. W. Abramson.
Dance to Follow Avukah De¬ bate Sunday Evening at Southern Hotdl
A debate followed by a dance will be given by Avukah, student Zionist organi¬ zation of Ohio State University, Sun¬ day evening. May 7, 8:15, at the Sonth¬ eni Hotel. The affair is under the au¬ spices of the Zionist district of Colum¬ bus.
The AVukah debate team consisting of Joseph Klein, Nathan Grundstein, and Alex Goldman will oppose a Cleveland team from Western Reserve University chapter, composed of Leo Gallen, Gerson Chertoff, and Sidney Miller on the question, "Resolved That Zionists Re¬ ject a Proposed Legislative Council for Palestine at the Coming World Zionist Congress." The O.. S. U. team will up¬ hold the affirmative side of the subject by opposing a legislative type of gov¬ ernment for Palestine.
Dr. B. W. Abramson will be chairman of the meeting. Rabbi Mordecai Hirsch¬ sprung, Attorney Robert Mellman, and possibly Mrs. W. A. Hcrsch will be the judges of the debate.
Following the debate, Earl Young arid His Ohioans orchestrai popular on the campus, will play for dancing until one o'clock.
Norman Price is general chairman of the affair and is being assisted by Aaron Levitus and Emanuel Slavin. Heleri Nutis and Sol L. Auerbach are in charge of publicity.
Proceeds from the affair will be used, to sponsor cultural-social affairs for the Jewish youth of Columbus in the future. A Jewish youth league on the same or¬ der of those established in other large cities is being cbntemplated for Colum¬ bus should this affair be successful. Through this medium,the cultural knowl¬ edge of the Jewish youth vvould be in¬ creased through the monthly meetings being planned. An organization of this type will be of great value and a valu¬ able addition to the roster of Jewish organizations already in existence. ' Max Dworken, prominent Columbus Zionist, is the originator of the idea of a Jewish Youth league and hopes to unite all of the Jewish organizations for these. meetings.
The local Zionist organization, of which Robert- Mellman is president, is cooperating with Avukah in furthering the purpose of the affair. Support is also being given by the local Hadassah organizatioils, A. Z. A., B'nai B'rith, and DeMolay.
Tickets for the affair are twenty-five cents per person for both the debate and dance. Members of the above organi¬ zations are handling tickets and they can Iso be obtained at the Hillel Foundation and the Schonthal Center.
Ivreeyoh Society Card Party to be Held Tuesday 2 p. m.
Arrangements for the card party to bc given under the auspices of the Ivree¬ yoh Society on Tuesday, May 9,-at the City Ice ,& Fuel Co. HaU, at 3 p. m.,- have been completed. .
