Over 500 Turn Out to Hear Louis Lipsky Last Mon¬ day Evening
One of the hipst interesting meetings sponsored hy Zion Lodge of the B'nai ll'rith was held last' Monday evening at the Rroad Street Temple, More than 'jtlO men and women packed the audi¬ torium eager to hear the message of Louis fJpsky, one of the outstanding figures in American Zionism.
This meeting was held under the joiiit ausjiices of the R'nai B'rith. and the Columbus Zionist District, again show¬ ing the .splendid cooperation of B'nai B'rith with other organizations in the community. The speaker was intro¬ duced I^y Robert L. Mellman, president of the Columbus Zionist District and also a past president of Zion Lodge.
Mr.,Lipsky, in his.;characteri!;tic ora¬ torical power, with thrusts of satire, Immor and. dynamic sincerity, traced, the cdiiclitidn^ faciiig Jewry ' throughout the world today. His main theme of dcvel-* Qi;jment tinalyzcd the situation in Ger¬ many under Hitler's' new power.
'.'Protest meetings in this country against Cliancellor Hitler's treatment of the Jews in, Germany won't make mat¬ ters any worse for the Jews in Germaiiy and probably won't make them any bet¬ ter, but they furnish an outlet for the Jew's righteous indignation," said Lip¬ sky. "Blood pressure must have its way. Let the Jews protest, let-them fast. There has been an efTort to keep down righteous indignation. It is a nat¬ ural instinct of a human being to ex¬ press his moral indignation. One thing you can do. You -can brand Hitler's treatment of the Jews an injustice," Lip- .sky declared. •
Mr. Lipsky . pointed out .that for twelve years Hitler has been building up new hatred, and that when the Nazis

ignorant people took bis pre-election words against the Jews as commands. "Mr. Hitler said he would exclude Jews from po.siti'ons of authority," the speaker continued. Then why shouldn't a Hit¬ lerite think, "PlI exclude a Jew from walking'on the street"? Mr, Lipsky pictures Palestine as the one place in the workl where the Jew can be-himself and where he is not discriminated against by Gentiles. /
A half-hoiir question 'period followed Mr, Lipsky's (iddress, in which a half- dozen members in the audience fired (piestions at Mr. Lipsky and were an
