The Dayton campaign is tho first in tho Fall phase of the na¬ tional drive in which th6 Joint Dis¬ tribution Committee, headed by Felix IVI. Warburg as Campaign Chairman, is seeking $4,650,000 for the aid of Jews in Germany, Po¬ land, numanla and other countries of Eastern and Central Eilrope and for the aid of German Jev/ish refu¬ gees throughput tho world. In tlie first half of the national drive, end¬ ing July 1, the Joint Distribution Committee raided $2,370,000 with C82 communities tlnoughont -the country contributing.
In response to official notifica¬ tion that the Dayton campaign had gono over the top, William Rosen¬ wald, co-chairman of tho 1937 na¬ tional campaign of the Joint Dis¬ tribution Committee, sent the fol¬ lowing message to J. M. Mar'golies, chairman of the Dayton drive:
