This line may sound a bit dated by the time it reaches your eyes, but U. S. officials abroad have informed our gov¬ ernment that war is Inevitable, because Hitler is definitely con¬ vinced that France and Britain won't fight. . . You may have forgotten, but Hugh Wilson, U. S. Ambassador to Germany, is still oh leave, and at the time of writing it looks as if he won't over go back. . . Preparations are already concluded for powerful .Jewish Legion to fight on the side of England if the war does break out. . . It is also said that in case of war Great Britain will entrust the Jews of Palestine with the defense of that country. . . Among those who are hoping that war won't come are the press agents of America, who realize that no publicity releases stand a chance in papers filled with war news. . . PARIS (W N S)—Emigration ot German Jews from the Reich struek new obstacles because of the tense international situa¬ tion, advices reaching here in¬ dicated, stating that Nazi auth¬ orities no longer permit young and middle-aged .lewish men to leave the country. Most 'of Germany's frontiers are virtu¬ ally closed and foreign consul¬ ates have ceased to accept apph- cations tor visas to foreign countries. Intormed sources said that the Nazis, who hither to had placed no obstacles in tho way of Jews wishing to emi¬ grate, providing they gave up most ot their property, were now making distinctions be¬ tween women and aged, on ..the one hand, and young and mid¬ dle-aged Jewish males, who are prevented trom leaving by be¬ ing conscripted into labor bat¬ talions.

Can Defeat Hitler Says Former fai
NEW YOBK (WNS)—An ethical revulsion ' which ¦ will only proceed from the spirit ot Christianity is the only opposi¬ tion to Hitler "that will become dangerous" to the dictatorship, asserts the startling confession of Herman Rauschnigg, former official ot the Nazi party, in a book called "The Revolution of Nihihsm," published this week by the Alliance Book Corpora¬ tion. This kind ot morality exists in America, Rauschnigg who was once the President ot the Danzig Senate declares, but "America is unstable and can be developed into an outright revolution; to do this ia both a tactical aim of Nazional Social¬ ism, in order to hold America aloof from Europe, and a politi¬ cal one, in order to bring both North and South America into the new order." According to Rauschnigg, the book is "the revelation of the process under¬ lying the ostensibly national inovement, a destructive pro¬ cess ot revolution ot a new and extreme type," made necessary because "even the German liv¬ ing in the Third Reich has had but the vaguest notion of what has been happening to him." , Rauschnigg warns western Civilization that no single terri¬ tory such as Danzig or even Po¬ land is the Nazi goal. Hitler means to accomplish German domination of the world by methods fair or foul, to create a new order in which brute strength may be the ruling fac¬ tor, to destroy Christianity by causing dissension between Ger¬ man Catholicism and Rome, but the schism in the Catholic Church is unimportant in the scheme of things, asserts Rauschnigg, "it will be a l)riet episode on the way to the com¬ prehensive aim ot destroying the Christian faith as the most deep-seated root ot Western civilization and of the social order."
FEZ, iWOROCCO (W N S) The Moorish Protectorate Gov¬ ernment took steps to suppress Nazi and Fascist propaganda, recently reported increasing here, by publishing two new de¬ crees in the official gazette de¬ signed to ban distribution ot pamphlets likely to endanger public order and security and to provide a tine of 1,000 to 10,000 francs and five to six years' im¬ prisonment for persons dissemi¬ nating propaganda with funds provided from abroad.
Danzig Jews Fear Concentration Camp
DANZIG (WNS)—Two thous¬ and Danzig Jews followed the European situation with grave apprehension believing that if war brolce out many would be sent to concentration camps. Until foreign ex¬ change restrictions were inaug¬ urated two months ago, emigra¬ tion of Jews from this area had progressed so well that they had hoped to evacuate the entire Jewish population .before thle end of the year. The Jewish community supports 1,000 desti¬ tutes, with the aid ot contribu¬ tions from United States sources. A month ago, forty- five Jews were drafted to clear land near the Polish frontier, They were recalled recently be¬ cause ot the crisis. The only Jews in Danzig who now are permitted to work are two physicians, a dentist, a lawyer and six skilled laborers.

Repre¬ sentatives ot the Jewish com¬ munity announced that only two synagogues will be rebuilt at the present time inasmuch as many Jewish families had al¬ ready emigrated from Germany and the need for additional houses Of worship was not pres¬ sing. It was also reported that the Na?i government will allow Jews to gather for prayer during the coming high holi¬ days, Permission to gather for prayer on tlie high holidays has been granted to Jews in Berlin and not yet to Jews in other cities throughout Ger¬ many.
Jews living in border towns of East Prussia were ordered by the Ministry of War to move into the interior, according to reports which said that the Ges¬ tapo set up a special police division whose duties will be to watch all Jewish activity in the disputed area. Mr. Goldstein has been active in A. Z. A. work In this city since the inception of the local chapter in 1932. He was in¬ strumental in its organization and one of its charter members.
