Ab Jews Attempt To Flee Towns
It is with a great deal of pride that we are this week publishing the United Jubilee supplement on the occasion of the Hebrew School's fifth an¬ nual event being held this Sunday afternoon and evening at the Hartman Theatre.
In undertaking such a contribution to a cause which we believe i.s most worthy, that of Jewish education, wo realized that we would be taxing our printing plant to the limit and that a delay in filling printing orders would naturally result.
The large numbers of business men for whom we have been doing considerable work will, we hope, bear with us this weelc. Howevfer, all future printing orders will be given prompt attention after this week.
At the same time we wish to inform our readers that the entire proceeds from the United Jubilee advertising revenue will go towards the Columbus Hebrew School. This is another indication of one of the many services the Ohio Jewish Chronicle has performed for Columbus Jewry during the past 17 years,

Local Zeta Beta Tans To Celebrate ^'OM Timers ©ay"-Monday
Following Zeta Beta Tau's an. nual custom of honoring its alumnus who has "made his letter in lite" and who stood forth beyond all his brothers during the preceding year, Dr, A, A. Brill, world-famous psychiatrist, N. Y. V. '01, Colum¬ bia '03, of New York City, has been selected as the recipient of the fraternity's "New Orleans Trophy" for the year 1938.
Dr. Brill is the translator into English of many German works including Jung's Psychology of Dementia Ptaecox and the prin¬ cipal works of Professor Freud. In 1024 he was editor of the English edition of Bleuter's Text Book of Psychiatry, Ho Is the author of "P-sychoanalysis: Its Theories and Practical Ap¬ plication"; "Fundamental Con¬ ception of Psychoanalysis" nnd about 200 pamphlets on pssychi- atrlcal subjects. He has been in medical practice since 1903 and has lectured at many tmiversi- ties. He was Major in the United States Army Medical Reserve Corps from 1917-34, and is a member of numerous medical societies.

PARIS (WNS) — Anti-Jewish feeling  flared  up  in  Slovakia, marked by violence and terror according  to   reports  reaching here which told of attacks on Jews   by   Hlinka   Guards   and Nazi sympathizers. Most violent attacks occurred in Bratislava, the capital where Hlinka Guards beat all Jews who dared to be seen in the streets. Practically the entire male Jewish popula¬ tion in tho town ot St, George was  beaten  on  streets  and  in homes   and   German   residents throughout  Slovakia  also  con¬ tributed to the terror aided by Nazi storm troopers. In differ¬ ent towns throughout Slovakia many Jews were forced to scrub sidewalks and made to march through  the ,streets  bn  their knees.    Jewish    families   have been robbed of their possessions and at Boesslng, near the capital . of Slovakia, the entire Jewish population  was  forced  to  fleo tor their lives after being sub¬ jected   to   unbelievable   terror. Boatings   and   Indignities   were widespread     and   at    Pistany, about 30 Jews were stood before a tiring squad of Hllnlca guards land    threatened    for    fifteen minutes.   After   being   cruelly beaten,    however,    they    were ordered home.
Throughout Slovakia, espe¬ cially at..Kismark, a wave of., suicides, resulting from' the" terror, ¦ broke out. It is known that pressure from Nazi Ger¬ many has resulted in the adop¬ tion of anti-Jewish economic measures, thousands ot Jervvlsh employes having been dismissed and commissars put in charge of Jewish enterprises. The Zion¬ ist organization at Bratislava still continues to function, ac¬ cording to the report, but the Maccabi, Jewish sport society, has been disbanded throughout the country. Bel Baer, leader ot tho Miziachi Organization, has been arrested on trumped up charges. Many Jews are trying lo obtain visas but none is al¬ lowed to take any valuables or ' money. It has been known for some time that preparations for a pogrom in Slovakia were being made and that professional hooligans had been brought to Bratislava to stir up trouble. Czech-speaking Sudeten Ger¬ mans, according to recent re¬ ports, were to bo brought to Prague, to create the ,impre^ sion that the excesses wero or¬ ganized by the Czechs, It had also been known that the Jew¬ ish question in Slovakia was to be solved on the German model and that measures similar to the Nuremberg laws would be issued. It is believed that tho pogrom throughout Slovakia has been in preparation tor sev¬ eral weeks and .had been expect¬ ed to break on April 15,
PRAGUE (WNS)—Dispatches from Pllsen, famed brewing cen¬ ter, reported ot attacks on Ger¬ man soldiers In which acid was thrown on them by persons un¬ identified. The attacks were said to have occurred on crowd¬ ed streets last week end. Ger¬ man authorities retaliated hy arresting fifty "Marxists" of Czech nationality and fifty Jews and maintained that the citj' ot Pllsen would be held responsible for Injuries to the BOldiera and damages    to    their   uniforms.
