¦ It's because they don't want to provide the slightest .excuse for a repetition of the 1914 in¬ vasion that the Belgian authori¬ ties , put an end to tiie broad¬ casting of anti-Nazi German news programs from their terri¬ tory. . .The talcing over ot the important Czecli radio station at Melnili; is only a routine mat¬ ter in the Nazi campaign to rule the air waves. . . In addi¬ tion to regular six-hour daily short-wave broadcasts, mainly in English, directed at North America, - the Berlin Broadcast¬ ing House has regular programs that it sends to Brazil in Portu¬ guese, to other South and Cen¬ tral American countries In Spanish, and to African and Asiatic countries in various languages, including Arabic. . . That these efforts have not been entirely in vain is shown by, among other things, the fact tliat last montli Germany's ex¬ ports exceeded those of the month before by ten per cent. . . And it is tlie infiltration of Nazi ideas into Mexico that is largely responsible for the precautions —such as building a ten-foot wall around his house—^that Leon Trotslcy feels it necessary to talce for his own safety. . "Socialism Js the obligation, of all for all, a goal for our whole nation" is a quotation not from Lenin or Trotsky or Karl Marx, but from none other than Adolph Hitler. . . It is being widely used by the Nazi pro¬ paganda office nowadays in an attempt to capture liberal and radical elements in other lands ... As part of the Nazi cam¬ paign in tills country all teach¬ ers of German recently receiv¬ ed a beautifully illustrated, well- bound book describing the Reich as Gabby Goebbels would like us to think it is—"a land of virorlc, of peace and joy". . . Not a word about concentration ' camps or Nuremberg laws, not even the shadow of'a distribe against Jews, no mention of the Niemoellers and Ossietzkys. But tliere are some cracks aboiit the "former world pow¬ ers" that have been trying to cramp Naziland's style. . . YOU SHOULD KNOW
The Revisionists propose the following slate for a triurtfvir- ate leadership to replace Dr. Welzmatin: David Ben Gurion, Pinchas Ruttenberg and Vladi¬ mir Jabotinslcy. . . We predict, however, that even if Weizmann does resign—and it looks very ¦ much as if he will—Jabotinsky will not be one of those who take his place, . . The General Zionists of Palestine and the Mizraclii, wlio are. definitely set on fighting Weizmann, are flirting with the idea of draft¬ ing Stephen S, Wise as the new World Zionist president, . . Rai8e $15^000 Jewish Fund 1939 G-oa
6S you read these lines, there is an army wandering * across the face of Europe. It is an army of despair, a straggling, aching mass of humanity with tatters for its banners. It is the army of refugees, whose lives haye been wrecked by the storm of persecution that has swept every _ Jewish life from its moorings in Germany, Austria, Poland and Gzecho-SloVakia. i
These men and women, without a country, keep crowd¬ ing, the highways in a vain search for an open door. There are 96,000 of these refugees in France, Holland, England, and Switzerland. Only one year ago, many thousands of them had been living in safety in'Vienna and in Czecho¬ slovakia, but the march of aggression has destroyed Vienna and Prague as asylums for refugees. So the Jew who fled from Berlin to Vienna, and then when Austria was swal¬ lowed up by Germany, from Vienna to Prague, must now go forth in search of a new home.

The proposed stoppage of immi¬ gration arid restrictions upon the sale of land in Palestine are morally and legally indefensible. "The resolution expressed "firm solid¬ arity" of the Zionist Organiza¬ tion of America with the Pales¬ tinian Jewry, and admiration for the. Look at the wistful, poignant face of the child refugee depict¬ ed pbove. The child's face tells the story which symbolizes the urgency of the appeal be¬ hind the 1939 campaign in Co¬ lumbus and vicinity. Unknown to us, these unfortunates are nevertheless our brethren tied to us by a spiritual strain thick¬ er than blood. They and thousands of others Uke them look to us hopingly, longingly.
Their fate is in 9lJr hands! We must reveal ourselves to them.
