NEW YORK (WNS)—The violently anti-Semitic American ' Destiny Party faced Imminent collapse as Its fuehrer, Joseph E. McWilliams, was committed to Bellevue Hospital for 10 days' psychopathic examination as a result of his second conviction on a disorderly conduct charge. McWilliams was committed to Bellevue Hospital by Magis¬ trate Edgar Bromberger one day after New York's leading anti-Semite was defeated by a vote of 2,537 to 674 In the pri¬ maries for the Republican con¬ gressional nomination in New York's 18th District,-which em¬ braces the, German-populated YorkvlIIe section.
Political observers were grati¬ fied that McWilliams, who an¬ nounced at his antl-SemltIc street comer rallies that he would do the same for the Uni¬ ted States that Hitler did for Germany, was turned back by such a wide margin in a dls- - trlct where Nazi agitators oper¬ ate openly.
Likening ^is own misfor¬ tunes to that of Hitler during the unsuccessful "beer hall putsch" days ot 1923, McWil- hams said that he would run as an Independent' candidate on an American Destiny Parly ticket in the November elections

^fter psych, sanity A third similar i^drge^ against him also awaits' dispo¬ sition. '
Magistrate Bromberger re¬ cently ordered a psychopathic examination of WilUam Fox, a McWilliams lieutenant, who was later sentenced to four months In the workhouse when he was fouiid to be legally sane.^
All • the disorderly conduct charges grew out of street corn¬ er meetings at which McWil¬ liams hurled abusive epithets at the Jews and challenged Jews In his audience.to step up. (Continued on Page 8).
